I know some of you other guys are into these showpiece figures so I wanted to start a little thread here to cuss and discuss them. I myself can only afford the all plastic US versions.
I wanted to know if anyone here has bought the repo gunbarrel for windcharger that people are selling on ebay. If anyone has how good does in enhance a weapon that just otherwise looks rather silly and even then is it worth the price of admission?
Has anyone here seen or bought Battle Ravage yet? I'm not to keen on him, but I think the Pather head is a nice compromise and I do want some more Decepticons.
I can't wait for toyfair to see the trucks and planes for this line. Those should be a great toys to look forward too now that Xevoz is pretty much dead.

I bought Grimlock and Windcharger a week or two after X-mas. Grimlock rocks, and windcharger left me with a bitter taste. He just isn't up to snuff compaired to Grimy and Smokey. I've read that the gun barrels are crap, but then i've read that they're really good. so i'm thinking its really just hit or miss. I've also thought about ripping up a "BiC pen" one of those cheap ball points and doing some work on it so it would look like a gun.
Good luck on what you do though. Your_Number1_Fan

I LOVE this line. Just received my BT Grimlock at the office, and struggling to wait til 5 before I open it (any time before then, productivity goes right downhill). As far as the barrels go, I have heard nothing but good things about them.
Have you purchased WC yet, Squishee? What problems do you find with him, Your_Number1_Fan? I can't find this guy anywhere and starting to get a little frustrated (did a 30 mi radius scan last night hitting Targets, TRU, and Wal-Marts.....nothing!). I know BBTS still has them on preorder, but I may just bite the bullet and do it online. I did this with Tracks, and never regretted it, considering I've never seen him on the shelves once. Also interested to know if the BT version has the barrel, but its all speculation until he's released.
So, guys, do you have a favorite in the line so far? Also, do you post at some of the board sites, like tfw2005, tfans, seibertron, allspark, etc?
If anyone knows where I can find a WC, or willing to trade for something, let me know.

SS, so far I believe there has been one sighting for Battle Ravage in the States. In a Target store I believe..
As for me, I'm pretty late on my ALT buying..last one I bought was Hound. He's a cool figure. I can't speak for the newer figures like Grimlock and co, but right now, my favorite is by far Silverstreak...awesome head sculpt and colors. I love it.
I really hope we'll see some planes and trucks at Toy Fair for this line. It needs it. I'm not holding my breath though.

I think the first one I actually buy will be the Shockwave repaint that I saw was coming out soon.

Yes, I'm caught up if you don't count Battle Ravage. I got lucky in finding Jazz, Windcharger, Grimlock, and Swindle all at one time about a month ago. Before then all I had ever seen at local retail was tons of smokescreens, sideswipes, and silverstreaks. Oh, I once I saw 1 Tracks and 1 Hound at Wal-Mart after Christmas and they were marked down and I promptly bought both of them. They were recently replaced by more Smokescreens and sideswipes. I like Windcharger. I really would have thought that would have been a character way down on the make list but I think they updated him nicely.... well except of his gun which looks pretty ridiculous without the gunbarrel. I'm getting more tempted to buy a repro although it's hard to plunkdown +$15 for one. Shockwave is a must buy and the best of the decepticons they've attemped yet IMO. He was always a fave in the GEN 1 days. I like how they have to call him Shockblast because of liescencing restrictions but his lisence plate reads SHKWV (I think). I'm a little on the fence about Wheeljack. I like the character but I miss the missle launchers on these toys and original Wheeljack's were a huge part of his look. I don't mind them reusing car models buy I wish they would spread them out over several years. I may be of the minority just I love the yellow rally honda that some are calling Dragstrip. I love the Stunticons of course it does bum me out that they can't merge to form Menacesor. Alternator gesaults would be raming this line up just one better. I think we are pretty assured of getting the trucks and planes. I'm pretty sure that news was passed on from hasbro at a comic show. Oh there might be an old friend of this site that will soon be selling Alternators... ~SS~

I think the first one I actually buy will be the Shockwave repaint that I saw was coming out soon. wait a minute here people......there is no "shock wave" alternator coming out... but there is a "shock blast"' in the us, and a "laser wave" in japan..... stay tuned for "blast wave" from the phillipines and "shocking waver" from canada. of course, i kid. .but wtf is up with stupid hasbro and thier stupid names? who owns the name "shock wave" any way? the "corps" figure company? i know the have the rights to "hawk" which is why gi joe now has "gen abernathy".... but can't we get "autobot jazz" instead of "miester"? and while were at it, how come hasbro hasn't caught on the the repro label 12.00 "miester jazz" sticker set. or their tracks flame stickers.....DUH HASBRO, people want flame stickers for their tracks!!!!!or "autobot tracks" or "autobot huffer" or whatever you guys are calling him now. okay, that rant was more than meets the eye. about 3 different topic thier and a million quote symbols.....i am not really that fired up. the alternator line is great.

I heard the reason they don't include the labels is that the car companys want most of the cars to look stock. Now why they can have smokescreen or dragstrip look like rally cars I don't know.
I'd like some of those stickers to but I've never been great with stickers and if I screwed up a $12 sticker I'd be sick.

what? that make no sense.....they can still include the sticker with the toy....i guess dragstip is okay beacuse he's a repaint? but wait, what about smokescreen?whatever...hasbro still sux
i think i would crap myself if i screwed up a 12 dollar sticker too
honestly, it's reprolabels.com 's fault for ever showing me a pic of how cool jazz looks with the stickers....i mean, he looks really cool.

I know what you mean. I've seriously considered getting the label set for Meis--dang it, JAZZ. I'd be sorely upset with myself if I spent almost as much for a sheet of stickers as I did for the toy itself . . . only to screw something up.

Heh, I love the look on retro stickered Jazz too. I'm sure I'll eventually cave in an screw mine up with an off centered label. Now I need for someone to start making repro missle launchers.... ~SS~

Meister is the stupidest name I ever heard. Looking at some pictures--he's the one from the cartoon that had the voice of Hong-Kong Phooey, right?

Yeah, I'm diggin this line a whole lot. I started collecting these before I did Xevoz. So far, I've got about 11 vehicles:
Materpiece Prime - Takara version Sideswipe Smokescreen Silverstreak Hound Dead End Tracks Meister (Jazz) Grimlock Swindle Overdrive (Windcharger)
The main reason I got the Takara version of Prime was because I heard that the Hasbro version came with battle damage. I can't fathom spending that much money to get a beat up looking fig, so I had to upgrade. As for Binaltechs, well, there's no sense IMO in spending that much on a vehicle that has an equivalent in plastic for 30 dollars less (I realize that sounds like I just made a contradiction, but fellas, BATTLE DAMAGE?? - I think you see why Prime is my exception). Also, I think the advantage of Alternators is that you don't have to worry about paint chipping off the plastic since that's the color of the plastic, whereas I would guess the Binaltechs might have their paint chip (by means of rough abuse, of course). I really don't know if this is the case, but I do recall memories of having metal vehicles like Matchbox and Hotwheels that would have paint chipping under rough wear.
I'm finding it difficult to find the newer vehicles in stores, so I've had to rely on online transactions to get what I can't find locally.
A lot of you already know about the current and future vehicles, Ravage, Shockblast, Wheeljack, & Dragstrip, but I've also been reading that they are in the works of manufacturing Prowl in the form of an Acura Integra. My guess is that there will be a repaint of the Acura as well since all the other vehicles out now seem to have a duplicate in another paint color/style. Case in point, just announced is Materpiece Magnus, or Ultra Magnus without all that body armor (Basically a white mold of Masterpiece Prime). From what I've been reading on Seibertron.com, it seems that there are many more vehicles to come per Hasbro, but we all know how good their word is these days, so who knows?
