I'm kinda on the fence in regard to that set too, Bleighdzes. For some reason, I thought it was going to be a $20 set. $30 makes it even more questionable. I had high hopes for this two pack, but to be honest, both Prime and Megatron disappointed me a little. (Also, I'm not too keen on the fact that Megs has no right hand, and little articulation in his right arm in general.)

So, I picked up the two pack last night. Very interesting set. The price was indeed $20 and well worth the price I think. Here's my little review: The two pack is actually quite decent for the price. Both these figs have a lot of articulation points, which I was really surprised about. Prime has 4 articulation points in each leg as the thighs can twist, same for Megatron. Prime has more articulation in his arms than Megs, but this doesn't make Megs a bad fig at all. Megs vehicle mode looks better than Prime's vehicle mode; both have good robot modes - Prime's is considerably good, so I guess there's a little give and take between the two. I haven't checked out the DVD yet - I'll probably watch that sometime over the weekend. I figure it has to be some re-account of the two characters through all the various generations and re-tellings of the TF story lines. The action features that I mentioned of prior aren't there as I though they were, which is a relief. Overall, not a bad combo for $20. I say get it. Quiller - I've noticed over the past year or so, we have very similar tastes in our fig purchases. You might like this one too.

When it comes to good taste, we've got it spades, man! That being the case, I respect your opinion, so it's good to get your feedback on these guys. I'm gonna go ahead and pick 'em up.

I still haven't seen Jetfire or Grimlock, but I did nab Mirage today. Great posability and he looks fabulous in both modes! The very best TC so far IMO.

I picked up Mirage and Grimlock yesterday at work. These two are nice, but I particularly thought it was cool to see the logo on Mirages wing / feet read as Witwicky Sparkplugs.

You've proven to be a trustworthy advisor, Bleighdzes. I snagged the two-pack, and am very happy with it. While neither Prime or Megatron are the supreme figure versions of either character—nor are they even supposed to be—they're still really nice figures, and make for a fun two-pack. For the $20 price, it's definitely worth the cost. Of the two, Prime's bot-mode is my favorite, while Megs comes out on top in the alt-mode department.
Again, thanks for the suggestion. It was money well spent.
As for Mirage and Grimlock, I haven't received mine just yet. They should be here early next week, so I'm looking forward to their arrival. Grims seems to be the one that most people want, but I'm looking forward to Mirage more myself. Grimlock looks cool enough, but I do wish they'd stayed just a little closer to his original bot-mode... and kept his energon-sword as well. Now I'm gonna have to make him one! On the other hand, while a lot of people have complained about Mirage's bot-mode (small waist), I think he looks great. He has a more stylized look than the original, and I think it suits him.
Meanwhile, the Holy Grail of TF Classics—Jetfire—continues to elude me. This is the one my heart bleeds for, and I just can't seem to be able to find him. Oh well... he'll eventually be mine.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for him as well, although, I'm not surprised I can't find him. It's still a little early for him to hit shelves - I was surprised just to see Mirage and Grimlock to be honest. If I happen to come across two Jetfires around my way, I'll reserve one for you bro. ;D

If You guys are having a hard time finding Grimlock, try Wal-mart. I found 4 there this part weekend as they recently filled the pegs.
I also found several Jetfires this morning at Target as they restocked the Voyager class figures. I'd try there if you are wanting him before Christmas and the other Holidays.

Also, BBTS is starting to list the Target Exclusives on their site, but I think the pre-order is full. I hope that doesn't take "food out of my mouth" so to speak considering they are getting people who live near Target stores to send them to BBTS from what I understand.

Speaking of that does anyone here want the ultra magnus without the skywarp or want an extra Classics ultra magnus to customize? I have no use for the prime repaint myself. I really wanted an authentic G1 style Maggie and since this is not it, I'm going to be looking to dump him off when these come out.

I know what you're saying - "But Bleighdzes, Nemesis isn't exactly a classic character." - well, you're right about that, but neither was this version of Ultra Magnus either. Come to think of it, I'm a bit surprised Hasbro hasn't milked the TF cow a bit more by making a white repaint of Alternator Prime / Nemesis Prime. Are they slacking?
