Speaking of repaints, is there any news about a Nemesis Prime in the Classics line? I know what you're saying - "But Bleighdzes, Nemesis isn't exactly a classic character." - well, you're right about that, but neither was this version of Ultra Magnus either. Come to think of it, I'm a bit surprised Hasbro hasn't milked the TF cow a bit more by making a white repaint of Alternator Prime / Nemesis Prime. Are they slacking? I haven't heard mention of a Nemesis Prime yet, but I'd bet money that one will turn up eventually, even if it's just a convention exclusive. Even though it would be yet another repaint of the Classics Prime mold, I'd get it for sure. Prime's Classics mold is one of my favorites to date. Also, I managed to get an order in for Classics Jetfire on KBToys.com. The damn thing sold out moments after I placed my order, so I was almost certain that I'd get a backorder notice or something. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, and Jetfire should arrive at my door within the next day or two. (Probably tomorrow, since the latest tracking update says that he's only 14 miles from my house!) I normally hold out for finding my figures in the stores, but for me, Jetfire is the single most important TF Classics figure to get. At $19.99 + $5 S&H, it's worth the cost, especially since I've easily burned that much in gas searching for him already. I'll still be out and about in the stores during the next couple of weeks though, so if I see one, I'll be sure to snag 'im for you, Bleighdzes. While I have yet to see Mirage or Grimlock in the stores, mine arrived in the mail today. I have to say, I like these figures even more than I thought I would. I knew I'd like Mirage, but man, pictures simply don't do this guy justice. All the Mirage-haters can complain about his bot mode all they want, but I think it's a thing of beauty. It's a nice, unique design, and it suits the character well. Also, his alt mode is great as well. I wasn't expecting much from Grimlock, and really wasn't as much into his look as I have been with the other Classics. While pictures failed to do Mirage justice, they simply made Grimlock look like crap. However, having Grims in hand has changed my mind. He's a nice addition to the Classics lineup, and his updated modes have grown on me. I still think he should have come with his energon-sword, but I'm going to fix that little problem in short order. Pound for pound, I think Classics is my favorite Transformers line thus far. G1 was the first, and I loved my TF figures. However, they were lacking in so many ways. (Articulation, sculpt, articulation, etc..) I love Alternators, but they're all cars. It's too bad that Classics is only a filler line, as this could easily become the definitive series of TF figures. It's G1 the way I wanted it to be when I was a kid.

Dang, I wish I had thought about online retailers. I guess I didn't even consider looking online for a bit since I only say him on eBay and my luck when I was working two weeks ago or so. Nice find!

Jetfire was waiting at home for me when I returned home from work today. What a figure! The wait was well worth it. Classics Jetfire combines the best elements of Skyfire and G1 Jetfire to make one heck of a nice figure. I hope you gets yours soon, Bleighdzes. I'm pretty sure that you'll be more than happy with this one.

LOL!! Dude, you would not believe it. I get out from work around 7:45. Head home, then go to the gas station to get some gas. It's late like around 8:30 by that time, and I'm tired. But since I was out, I decide to venture to a Target I had never been in before since it was close and I remembered that I needed some spices. Even though I had never been in there, the layout reminded me of another Target store I had been in so I knew the layout and decided to walk to the action figure aisle just to see what they might have had. As I get there, Woah and Behold! - I find Jetfire sandwiched between two Primes! And since it's Target, I used my discount to boot - BONUS!
I gotta agree, this one is really nice! I find it really interesting that a robot has a helmet - It works well on or off. Hasbro turned out one fine toy this time!
Good thing I'm working tomorrow, I forgot all about the spices. ;D

That's awesome, man. I'm glad to hear that you snagged ol' Jets. Sounds like that spice run really payed off. As for forgetting the spices themselves, I know how that goes. It all starts innocently enough: You make a trip to the store to pick up some domestic item that you need, and y'know, since you're there anyway, you might as well swing by the toy aisle to see what's there. Besides, it'll only take a minute. What'll it hurt? Then, you spot an elusive action figure you've been looking for for a while, and to hell with "whatever-I-was-here-for-in-the-first-place." Yep, I've done it more than once.
When I first saw Don Figueroa's design for Jetfire in IDW's TF: Stormbringer series, it was love at first sight. The way he combined the best visual elements of the cartoon's "Skyfire" with aspects of the G1 toyline's "Jetfire" really impressed me, such as his battle-helmet—which resembled the toy more—and his cartoon-style humanoid face underneath. The fact that his design served as Classics Jetfire's template made me a very happy TF fan. Don has a true talent for dreaming up ultra-cool designs, as well as bridging some of the differences between the G1 toys and their cartoon/comic book appearances. (Such as Bumblebee and Brawn having removable battle masks, which offers a cool explanation as to why the G1 Minibots' toys' faces were more robotic in appearance, while their cartoon versions were much more humanoid in nature.) He's a TF fan of the highest caliber, and an excellent artist to boot. That combination serves the rest of us well, and I hope that Hasbro will put Don's abilities to good use for a long time to come.
In short, I love this figure, and I love the Classics line. As far as I'm concerned, Hasbro really hit a home run on this series. I just hope that they'll see fit to continue the line beyond its originally intended lifespan, because there are many, many more TF characters that I want to see done up Classics-style.

I'll second that. I really hope the line has enough support to hold its own beside the movie figures. Anyway, I've just started to see the mirage figure float around target here in Texas. So Jetfire and the two packs should show up pretty soon. Your Number1 Fan --still wish bumble B had a gun though...

Looks like they have the next wave of Transformers Classics images posted up on seibertron.com. [ftp]http://seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id=1061&size=1&image=11[/ftp] Man, I'm majorly dissappointed in that wave. Two gen-1 names(Perceptor and Trypticon) that look nothing like their original 80s designs in either modes. The other two toys aren't even recognizable to me. They all look like crappy repaints from recent lines with the classics names slapped on them. I'm not planning on this being a completist line for me with some of the cheapo cost cutting Hasbro has in store, but that wave looks like a complete non-buy. I guess it really was too good to last. ~SS~

The four figures shown in the link are repaints of energon 3 inch figures. I don't like that scale, I don't like the name re-use, I don't like the repaints. They look very cheap to me. Hasbro is just trying to make more money with previously released molds. Can't blame them for that. I just don't buy them. Same with the endless supply of minicons that's coming out. I consider none of those to be part of the Classics line. To me, the line is made up of deluxe and voyager sized figures. Everything else sold in a Classics packaging is ugly and pretty much non existant in my opinion.

The pictures that you saw are "Classic Legends", repaints of $4 Cybertron toys. That's right, $4. They're meant to be homages, but they're not part of the main line.
In truth, they're actually pretty neat little toys for the price, since they transform and some are pretty poseable. I'm impressed by how well the homages work.
Of course, this ties into my fondness for small figures and repaints, so I'll definitely be getting them.
But, please note - there are no more new Classics figures in the pipeline. Repaints, yes. The filler line has fulfilled its intended purpose.

Transformers Classics Legends? What's classic or legendary about any of those repaints? Why can't Hasbro keep a series we like pure improved G-1 redesigns without getting schlockey with stuff that doesn't fit it like this creeping in trying to capitalize . Just call these Transformer Repaint Legends and keep them out of the Classics packaging. Classics is better than any of the tranformers lines they've done in the last decade, why cheapen the brand with this kind of thing? I hope they get back to it after the movie figures flop.

I'm not fond of any of the repaints from previous TF lines that are slated for release as Classics. I'm with Grayfox: to me, they're nonexistent. Devastator, the Minicons, the Legends repaints... I don't like any of 'em at all, and I'll not be spending my money on a single one.
As for the Deluxe and Voyager Classics, not only are they better than the majority of TF toys from the past decade, they're some of the best TFs to date. Short as Classics' lifespan will be, it's already claimed the top spot for TF toylines in my book.

I can't disagree there. I was just hoping Hasbro could see that quality, good designs, and value of the line and make a commitment to giving us more of the same.

I'm right there hoping with you, man. Maybe sales will be good enough to cause Hasbro to extend Classics' lifespan. Up to and including the present, Hasbro has run multiple TF lines simultaneously, so I honestly see no legitimate reason as to why Classics should be a mere filler line. Even though it's partly due to the fact that we're currently in a transitional period, there are five different TF lines on the shelves. We all know that Cybertron is closing out, and that Alternators is going on hiatus during the upcoming year. However, I don't know what the plans are for the Stars Wars or Titanium TFs. If those two lines continue in place of Classics, it'll be a crying shame. (Even though I do think that some of the Titaniums are pretty cool.) Also, from what I've seen of the movie figures, I'll not be losing much money on Hasbro's 2007 "core TF series." I could be totally wrong, but I doubt that they'll leave the shelves as quickly as the Classics toys.

It'd be pretty cool if the upcoming TF cartoon featured the Classics characters. That way, Hasbro could put more efforts in the line, making it something more than a filler. So even if the show were to be lame, at least we'd get more figures. They already have a good start with the Classics. I really hope they won't come out with a whole new batch of figures for that upcoming show. There are way too many different TF lines out there right now. They just need to keep giving us Classics. Let kids enjoy the movie TFs while we fans enjoy our classics. At least that's my opinion
