has anyone bought any of these? i found one in a local shop last night and decided to try it out, despite the large price tag for such a small figure. i got shin getter robo, and it's an awesome figure.....with one exception, the right leg keeps falling off. the rest of the figure seems really solid and secure. i just wanted to know if anyone else who has tried this line has experienced any similar problems or if i just got a defect.

I purchased the two released Eva Units (00 & 01) online a few days ago and should be getting them sometime in a few days. They look promising for fully poseable 6 inch figs. I'm also looking forward to the Optimus Prime Revoltech fig coming out in 3rd quarter 2006.

My bad, they are 5 inches for the Eva Units. I re-read the info on BBTS.

Great pictures!
Could you guys explain to me how the articulation works on the Revoltech figures? I've been thinking about buying the Dante (Devil May Cry) Revoltech figure, but I'm still not 100% convinced it's worth the price it sels for. Can they really achieve any position? Are the figures sturdy enough?
Thanks!

The articulation is similar to those new joint pieces for Legos, like take for instance the big robot Lego put out last year. If you're familiar with how the joint system worked for the arms and legs, well the idea is nearly the same. I didn't take out the joint pieces from the arm or hand, but they are removeable - I was just being lazy. But unlike Legos, there is more potential with these since they don't lock into place like the bricks do. Using one joint as example, you can see that not only can you bend the joint back and forth, but you can also rotate and tilt in any direction, limited of course by the body itself, but poses are limitless. It's like this for the ankles, knees, wrists, elbows, shoulders, waist & neck. The pelvis joints are different, but I'm thinking that may be something about the Evas, not sure. I'd go more into it, but I need to jet to work soon. Last thing that I will say is that they are very sturdy. Joints are not loose at all because of the material they are made from, plus they fit very snuggly into the holes on the corresponding body parts. I'll go more into it if you need more data to review in making your decision after I get back from work.

Those are excellent pictures, Bleighdzes... probably the best look at Revoltech that I've seen anywhere yet. Those are some great poses to demonstrate their range of articulation, and good size comparison shots to boot. Great job all the way, and thanks for posting them for us.
I 've preordered Devil May Cry's Dante, Shin Getter Robo-1, and Neon Genesis Evangelion EVA Units 00, 01, and 02, but none of mine have arrived just yet. They look like really nice figures, especially for the scale. I was under the impression that these were supposed to be 6" figures, so I was a bit disappointed to learn that they're actually a bit smaller than that. Still, it's not too big of a deal--no pun intended--and I'm hoping to receive mine soon.
I'm probably going to pass on the Shin Getter 2 and Overman King Gainer figures. They just don't appeal to me enough to justify forking over the cash that these figures go for. (I'd consider King Gainer at a lesser price, but I wouldn't take the Shin Getter 2 robot if someone gave it to me.) I haven't decided on Black Lagoon's Revy just yet... she's a cool looking figure, but once again, the price. EVA Unit 03 and Optimus Prime are different stories, however. Those two I'll order for sure. (And probably any other G1 TF figures offered.)
Meanwhile, I wish it were possible to buy packs of the Revoltech joints themselves....

i saw them at my local comic book store... I'm sure the joints are great, but the plastic molding looks like cheap pvc figures. that said, as soon as i see one i like i'll have to pick one up

Well, I bought the Revoltech Dante figure today from a collectible store. I paid CDN $25.00 for it (around US $22.00). I find it a bit expensive, considering the size of the figure. Still though, I really like it. Mainly for the sculpt. The revolver joints are nice, but I don't find them all that revolutionary.
I'll try to write a review and post some pics soon.

Are the two Eva units, 00 and 01, worth the money? I don't have a lot of money considering I'm only 13 but I'm getting some money soon and those two figures look interesting.

I'll say this - they are more expensive than most figs I usually get, however when you consider that the retailers are trying to cover import costs, and then whatever they can make on retail, it's not that bad. I like these figs a lot, so I think the purchase was very good.

Mine too were a bit sticky right out of the package.
I managed to snag the only one I really wanted, Eva 01, at a near by Newbury Comics store. My only complaint is the right trigger hand on mine is still sticky and seemse to be rubbing off or something? I don't know but I am sure it will be fine. After all it has been humid as all hell here in RI lately. So it might just be that.
Anyway the figure itself is great, paint is top notch, articulation isnt revolutionary but is still a welcome change from Kaiyodo. The accessories are also welcome, I personally love the little bowie knife. But I am a show junkie so I always loved the battle scenes where he would whip that out and stab the hell out of the opponent.
I recommend these figures, sure they are a little steep ($19.99-25.99) but they are well worth it in my book.
