LOL...YOU ARE KILLING ME SQUISHEE!!! How about this...TRU had an early release program for Xevoz which has now ended since Target has begun carrying the line as well. I'll admit it will be a bit annoying if they re-release Grim Skull and Omega Guard with just a few new pieces but if they rename them and create new characters then I won't mind as much. I would still buy them anyway simply because I'm a completionist at heart...once I get into a line I just have to have everything

[glow=aqua,2,300]Heh, sorry I just like to debate stuffs. Mmmmyep, that explaination of the first wave sounds about right to me, CJK.
I could go with the new character concept just as long as we see more variation in the figures other than a couple newelements and a new name. At least make some of the reused characters pieces with yet another color profile. I to suffer from completism to some extent. It dies though when I feel like I'm getting the jerk around. I don't want that to happen with this line.

Squishee, we are going to reserve the Xevolutionaries Devil's Advocate position for you. One thing about todays world is that we know about all these exclusives. When I was younger, and collecting Gi Joe like all get out, I stumbled across a toy I had never seen in one of my friends collections. I was a tank in red and black that was similar to a green one I had. You know how kids are - where did you get THAT! Well, his family shopped at Sears, so they found that item you could only buy at Sears. As someone else mentioned, Transformers has had some recent exclusives. You go to WalMart, you get SunStorm or Energon Megatron. TRU has Ramjet, and any number of the classic reissues. Now, who is responsible for these exclusives? Its not Hasbro. The stores say, WE WANT VALUE! And Hasbro has to find a way to give it to them. They're not going to tool them a whole new figure...they take a part from here and a part from there, and a new toy is formed.* I have not seen any posts that say these were found at any store other than TRU (the Target sighting seemed confused, at best), so, if you did not shop at TRU, the only way you would ever see a black skeleton figure would be when it is released in the future...and you certainly will not see a regular release black skeleton with Inferno Fury red parts. So, if you're gonna get ripped by having to buy two black skeletons, I'll accept that. But if it had been a blue skeleton called Ice-A-Bone, would that have worked for you? DoctorKent *of course, during Transformers BM, Hasbro had tooled that Supreme Monkey Prime that never came out, so when TRU wanted a big exclusive, they got a toy that never came out before. Good thing too.

[glow=aqua,2,300]Had it also had to some cleverly reused pieces from other kits or translucent blue Inferno Fury parts then.... yes! I'm not against repaints as exclusives. I just don't like seeing tweeked repaints we have already been offered as exclusives in the regular line. That's lazy, boring, and cheap IMO.

I hope that Tomb Wraith isn't that Grim Skull because I want them to put out different figures before making hundreds of relitively the same skeletons

...i was just looking at those pictures from toy fair again. and is it just me or does that "grim skull" there look gray, not black... i do see that the chest plate is red in the middle, where my "value zone" version was just painted purple, but a couple of those pieces look like a little bit more paint was applied. either way, i've looked at a couple different pictures from a couple different sites of this toy fair, and it looks like he's gray. now is it just me, or maybe the lighting?

Check out this picture.... [glow=aqua,2,300] The only parts that look gray are the pieces that are directly exposed to the bright showroom lights on the appendages. The torso and head are definately Black though, there aren't any gray pieces making up his body IMO. It's just the effects of the bright lights.
The upside is the armor pices are painted differently as well as the eyes. The wings and forearms/hands appear to be new pieces. I'll buy it, but it's not a thrilling piece to me. It's too much like Grimm Skull and Skull Jack to be considered anything special IMO.

yeah, that's one of the pictures that i was looking at... so maybe it's just the color on my computer then (and the showroom lighting)... oh well. either way, i still intend on picking this one up. i just hope that he will get a new name. which it looks like he just might.

New wings, gauntlets, sword and accessories. It's enough for me to buy. I admit a new skull headsculpt would have been cool though.

Those wings rock my socks. I'll pick him up. Seems to be a little light on the accesories, though. Or are there others in different pictures, ie: bigger, wider shots of the figure?

There are other pieces shown in other pics but nothing that's close enough to tell what's really in the pile. I think the majority if not all of the new parts are shown in that pic as part of the fig.

[glow=aqua,2,300]The only other piece I know is new and not shown is the Jack-o-lantern head.

I've been thinking about getting an army of Skull Jacks to fight an army of Grim Skulls, but would it be stupid to get more Value Zone Grim Skulls? I could just wait until the Booster set, but that won't come with all the recolored Skull Jack parts. I mean, it'll come with some of them, just not all.

[glow=aqua,2,300]It's really all up to you. TRU would love for you to buy more Grimm Skull value packs on the other hand if this figure is a booster you could save several dollars a figure for the new version. You could make a squad of mixing both.
