I think it's the phantom--he's blood red, skull faced, and covered in a Gothic cross motif... I might be wrong, but that isn't the phantom Red-badguy(scorl)--> www.microforever.com/2004AcroScrol.htmclear-badguy(Phantom)--> www.microforever.com/2004AX-21Phantom.htmI wasn't able to buy the red guy when I bought the others, but he'll definatly be added to my inventory if I like this set. While the figures certainly look cool, I dislike the fact that they are not as posable as their design might suggest. The Acroyear I set figures especially have a hard time balancing with their armor on and even holding their weapons. They are definitely more for display than play. I had hoped to use them as mini art manikins, but I find that the Spiderman 2 magnetic and super articulated versions work better for that purpose. FYI As for anyone considering the Biomachine set, BBTS has their 10% sale off until the 26th www.bigbadtoystore.com/micro_menu.aspso the set of 4 would come up to $45.50 including flat rate shipping. The MSRP for the USA release of this set is $14.99 X 4 (and they come with a new DVD).

Do you know when the USA release date is? I don't want all of the Biomachine set, just the blue guy with the Flock of Seagulls haircut...

For Lobsterman, and his lent dilemma... Acroyear died for your sins.

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand the appeal of these micromen. Are all the limbs interchangeable? or just the hands?
I was never into the micronaughts as a kid. After Xevoz, I just can't get excited by these. Am I missing something?

It depends on how bad you've got the poseability bug. For me, the old micronauts were the only toys that could adequately reenact the intricate fight scenes I had going in my head. The poor star wars figs, on the other hand, were capable only of goose-stepping, bending over at the waist, and thrusting their arms straight out in a strangler's attack...

Let's skip a Xevoz comparison. Xevoz are the $hit and there is no explaining what is going on with that.
Microman sets are very cool however. I don't know that they are as robust as other toys - that is, able to take the same punishment. I find them pretty amazing though. They are very poseable and very customizable. But no, it's not just popping on/off various assorted limbs and accesories. You may even need a tiny phillips screwdriver.
The image of Acroyear above is my own photo with space effects added in via image editing. It's an AMAZING toy. It really is more like an art object. Completely weird and idiosyncratic. Completely defying explanation. His giant celtic cross is described variously (and without any real support that I can find in English, I have no Japanese) as Death-Grave or as his "hammer." Um...hammer? WTF, is that about? I figure it's either a means of transport or Acroyear's divine punishment amongst the stars. Either way is wildly cool as both an idea and an image. I just ordered three. I'm going to hang one on the rear-view of my Lincoln Continental.
But then I am amused by Japanese culture more generally too. Doromon, Everyburger, Meiji cookies - you just don't understand great packaging until you have seen Japanese packaging.

The image of Acroyear above is my own photo with space effects added in via image editing. Great work on the @$$-kickin' photo there, triskela. Takara owes you their thanks for finally convincing me to procure my very first Microman. . . . you just don't understand great packaging until you have seen Japanese packaging. Very true! ------------------------------------------------------------ BTW, does anyone have the full scoop on the official U.S. release of Microman? What I'd like to know is whether or not these figures are going to be available in the large brick & mortar stores, or if they'll simply be available through specialty shops and online retailers. Also, when will we begin to see the first wave available for purchase? I'm asking this because 1.) The imported Microman figures have been readily available in my area at a couple of specialty shops, and 2.) At those shops, their prices have been about the same as what I've seen listed as being the MSRP for the "U.S. releases". (Even a bit less, in some cases.)
