Ok, I guess it would be easier to just consolidate all Marvel Legends posts to one post, rather than to have one for each fig in this line, plus I have questions about a few other figs of this series that I'm hoping some of you could answer for me. I'm debating getting the Series 1 Ironman. Not any of the chase figs, but just the regular common red and yellow with the removeable faceplate. This guy... Compared to all the other Ironman figs released from this line, how does he hold up? I like this one because it's the general appearance that people would conceptualize if they knew who Ironman was. Sadly, I'm finding him to be a bit on the pricey side compared to other figs, but it's to be expected considering he's of the first series and probably not in production anymore, or as much. I'm also curious if they'll remake this exact costume with possibly more POA than the 32 he has now and perhaps more detail. Not like the variants from series 1, or the red and silver from 7, or even the recent one from 8, but an exact dup of this series 1 suit, just with more POA. Anyone know about this?

He's a good figure overall if you like Iron Man. Since it was the first series, there were a lot of ups and downs in the quality of the figure:
- in that first series, they were trying to use a rubber-band waist joint (a la GI Joe) that never really worked that well. It's hard to get the waist to stay in a particular position, and it's kind of floppy in general.
- the rest of the joints are nice and tight (at least on my figure), so you don't have the same problems with toppling figures as with later waves.
- it's not as flimsy and cheap-feeling as later waves. They used a heavier plastic that makes for a rather substantial, meaty and durable figure.
IMHO, he's one of the Legends figures who stands the test of time, and reminds me what a great and ambitious project the Legends line was intended to be.

Actually, I've got both Caps and I have to say I prefer the newer one, if for no other reason than it seems a little more solid and less spindly than the first. I like the mix of textures better, as well, and the fact that it looks a little less "cartoon-y", if that's possible.
I realize that the design (colors, etc.) aren't what most people would think of first when it comes to CA, but in terms of the figure itself I think it's a step up.

The've certainly made strides in terms of articulation. I'm kind of torn on Cap. I'm actually partial to the sculpt on the original; I think the proportions are much better. The new one's head looks too small to me. Also, although the new Cap sports probably a dozen more POAs, I just feel like more care was put into the old one. It's a completely unique sculpt rather than details on a buck body, the paint (on mine, anyway) is flawless, and the heavier plastic gives it a substantial feel.
I don't want to come off all old-school and curmudgeony, though. Both are outstanding, and they've done much, _much_ worse in this line than the new Cap figure.

[glow=red,2,300]but one has to admit that the hump on capt isn't a big selling point. i don;t want to sound like a stickler, but the fact the head doesn't look up doesn't sit well with me either.[/glow]

I just got my first Spider-man--a Spidey 2 super-poseable movie fig. Very cool. But I need to exchange him tomorrow because his left hand has a right pinky. God, I hope the returns desk doesn't ask me to explain that. My only other general complain would be that joint looseness, but the plastic is light enough to hold a pose, it seems.
For you guys who've been collecting these for awhile, I'd like to know which ones you feel are the best, and why. How about the worst? Is any one hulk better than another, for example? Is Black panther as bad-ass as he looks? etc.

In my humble opinion, Colossus and the brown costume Wolverine are two of the finest _action figures_ ever produced. They have the obvious articulation going for them, but with these two figures in particular, I felt like the sculpt, paint, scale and overall design really captured the essence of the characters.
Colossus: The head sculpt in partucular is amazing. I've often thought the face sculpts on a lot of the Legends figures turned out goofy or exaggerated, but this one is dead-on. I really liked the dull metallic paint job they used for him -- I always imagined his organic steel skin to be more matte than shiny. Also, he's an imposing figure, standing tall above everyone so far but Juggernaut.
Wolverine: A vast improvement over the blue and yellow costume figure. The two biggest pluses -- scale (he's short and stocky compared to all of the other figures) and the blade-style claws. Everything else is as it should be with the sculpt; the fins on his costume and cowl are well-proportioned and just angular and stylized enough to make him look like he jumped right out of the Frank Miller miniseries.
Every other Legends figure I've purchased, while well above average, always had some little thing that bothered me. Colossus and Wolvie, though, were executed flawlessly.

My fav Legends fig is Deadpool...in part because of the toy itself, and in part because I'm a big fan of the character/comic.
Other Legends figs that I think are excellent are ML 6 Wolverine ML 6 Juggernaut ML 5 Colossus
In my opinion, as far as Iron Man and Cap go, I personally like the new ML8 versions much better than the series 1 versions. I just think they look better on display.

I think deadpool is the bomb a funny assasin BRILLIANT! I agree, I wasint looking forward to colossus but he is now my favorite from wave 5. Wave 6 has yet to disapoint me but I only got wolverine and juggernaught I need to find cable and deadpool. Wave 8 has alot of small probloms and bad comic choices (iron man and man thing). - Dark joe

Man-Thing is actually a really cool figure. I'm not into the character, but the design and the toy itself are cool.
Deadpool rules! Someone (not sure who) actually bought the rights to make a Deadpool movie. When X-Men became a smash hit, movie companies bought the rights to like every Marvel character out there. I doubt that Deadpool will see the screen...although they ARE making a Man-Thing movie, so who knows, we could see Wade Wilson on the big screen!
By the way, anyone who hasn't read Deadpool, pick up the debut issues of his monthly comic, which was written by Joe Kelly and drawn by Ed McGuiness. They may have actually collected those early issues into a trade paperback. VERY fun reading!

Man-Thing is actually a really cool figure. I'm not into the character, but the design and the toy itself are cool. That's actually the one I want most. He was my favorite superhero as a child. Can't find him anywhere. Only Beast. Beast. Beast. I hate Beast.

Man-Thing was your favorite superhero as a child? Wow. Most kids like Batman, Superman, Spiderman, maybe even Wolverine nowadays, but Man-Thing? I can just see the kids in the neighborhood flying around, using their 'batarangs', etc. while you are gaurding the Nexus of All Realties and repeating over and over that any who feel fear burn at the Man-Thing's touch!
Sorry...just being silly, but seriously, Man-Thing was really your favorite?

To answer your question about best and worst of the ML line, and other lines compatible with it, here are my opinions:
ML 5 Colossus - awesome figure and the perfect representation of the character
ML 6 Deadpool - again, great figure and the posability really works for this character
ML 6 Juggernaut - looks great and is huge!
ML 6 Brown Wolverine - I always liked the brown costume over his yellow and blue one, and this figure looks great. Only issue is with his bent claws, but ALL Wolverine figures have issues with the claws!
Other awesome figures in compatible lines are:
Gamma Hulk - from Hulk series 2, this is my favorite Hulk figure, looks pissed and is big enough to work great with ML
Mecha-Hulk - from the same line as the above figure, this is also a huge toy and looks great!
As for Spiderman...everyone loves the new Super posable one, but my favorite is from way back in Series 2 of the Spidy line, it is called Spiderman Water Webs. He isn't superposable, but I just like the design of the figure and you can turn his "web slinging" hand upside down and make him like he is giving the 'heavy metal' sign, which is always a plus for me in my toys!
Another Spidey figure I love is the Green Goblin from series 7, which is based of of Humbero Ramos's artwork of the character. I'm a fan of the style, but alot of people dislike it. One of my favs though.
Those are my picks for my favs. I have a bunch of other ML and other related figs that are cool (Apocalypse, Sabertooth, Ultimate Cap, Ultimate Iron Man, Punsher, Elektra, Ghost Rider, etc.), but the ones listed above are, in my opinion, the best of the bunch.
