What's up with Hasbro!? I was really looking forward to seeing the upcoming kits! Yes, I'm kidding.

The Cloverfield monster was made out of Xevoz parts.

these guys have all the information about wave 5 that is public on one of the older links (names and the package illos that were leaked.) Sorry I can't say more (had a talk with the guys about it & decided we're in a gray legal area showing photos) I would guess that when they were newly cut, a set of molds for a figure would be 30-50k, but now they'd be less due to lowered demand. (guessing, I never had to get into that too specifically with the engineers)

The mold for *one* figure would have cost between 30-50k [when these were popular]!?! That's an insane amount of money. I wonder what they're going for now.
Also, wacommonkey, having seen the wave 5 pics, do you think the figures looked good? Better than the 4 waves before?

How about a string of PM's or E-mails then? Wouldn't be like you were posting them on the public forum then.

not to be a show-off, but I havn't just seen pics, I have the actual figures. There were quite a few wave 5 samples internally, & we passed them out to designers who wanted them as usual, never thinking that Xevoz would get cut when a whole wave of product was nearly ready to ship. They are good, the turtle is one of my favorites of the whole series, & Ursa Khan's funny part is a beer belly torso with a white tank top-really sad that never made it to the awesome customizers on the site. Jungle Machete & Ursa were re-using some parts from older kits for the first time, but the approach was fresh.

Honestly, you sound like all talk. No proof, no believing you.
They sound cool and all, but what's to say you aren't making it all up?

that's OK if you don't believe me, it won't hurt my feelings or anything. If anyone's out in SD comic con this year, ask a designer at the Hasbro booth for the ex-Xevoz guy, someone who I used to work with will probably know where I'm at, it'll be fun to talk.

What exactly was supposed to be released in Wave 5 besides Mech-Shell and Ursa Khan? Is it Ursa Khan or Ursa Major? I saw Ursa Major on Wikipedia.
If someone wanted to buy the molds, not that I have that kind of money, who would you contact and would Hasbro be willing to sell them? If so, wouldn't the folks at Stikfas want to buy them because I'm sure they know the cult following Xevoz has.

Not that I don't believe you, just wish there was more proof than just some descriptions. That's all.

I don't know if they'd be willing to sell the molds. the big companies will often hold on to a dead property's rights just to make sure the competition doesn't make money on the idea. As for Stikfas, I don't want to put words in the mouths of Ban & the guys, but it could be a fun thread discussion to bring up on their forums. Of course I would like to share images with everyone, but it's not worth my job & reputation, hopefully someday we'll get the clear to show everything we had planned.

By that time the 10 or so of us that still check this place every week will have moved on to early bird special at dennys, feeding the squirrels at the park and watching 60 minutes religiously.
