I burned off all the flesh on my face so that I wouldn't have to shave. The girls scream in horror and run away but I same time when grooming. I'm considering continuing with the rest of my body but with the sensory overload from the last time I can't tell if it will hurt or not.

That's funny - a couple of years ago I started exactly the same thread in another forum I participate in.
I'm a Schick man - been using the Tracer FX for the past 5 years or so. I think the blade/cartridge design is the best that anyone has produced since the advent of twin blades.
I'm also vehemently anti-Gillette. Their products pure gimmickry, and have been for the past 25 years. All the pivoting/floating/vibrating cartidges do nothing to improve a shave. In fact, I think they have a more negative than postive effect on shaving. And all the time and money that's spent researching these gimmicks would be much better spent coming up with a design that was an actual improvement.
Frankly, I think Gillette realizes that the last real innovation in blade shaving design was the twin-blade concept, and they know they can't signigicantly improve on it. That's why all their new product introductions over the past couple of decades have been gimmicky tweaks to the twin-balde system.
Now, since I've been down this road in another forum, I know that there are a lot of triple-blade fans out there. I've tried the triple-blades (a plain version, with no vibrations, lights, bells or whistles), and while they so seem to give a little closer shave than a twin-blade, it's not enough of an improvement to justify the extra cost. Also - and this is very important to me - the third blade makes the cartridge too wide. I can't shave up under my nose with a triple-blade cartridge.
So, I still prefer a good twin-blade design with a nice thin cartidge. For my money, that's the Schick Tracer FX - which, unfortunately, appears to be doomed to the same fate as our Xevoz. I'm stocking up.

[glow=red,2,300]since we are on the subject, why are cartidges so expensive? and if the razors are made of steel, why does it get dull after 5 or 6 shaves? the best cuts come from the first use. but why are we shelling out almost a 20 dollar bill or 15 cartridges? and it doesn;t help i shave every 2 days. [/glow]

I know what you mean rupert. The dang shaving industry is straight up gangsta with their prices. It didn't used to be like that years ago from my memory. I not only shave the face but my scalp as well, so I feel your pain and then some.

[/glow] Try shaving once every ten days or so--that's my method. A friend and I stumbled onto a sizeable cache of MISPRICED mach 3 blades at Target--it was a 15 pack, or something, going for less than half the price of the eight pack. We're talking, like 25 cents a cartridge here--for MACH 3!! We bought the whole rack, and now we shave like KINGS!!

I just go with that Norelco, it might be a little outdated, but it's a nice, fast, easy, oh so sexy shave, people should try it. TRY IT I SAY!

Electric shaver here. Probably not the best shave a man can get, but it gets the job done.

But I had the same problem, because I used to shave the top edge to give it a nice clean look. 2) Back in my Army days, I used to dry-shave with a straight razor. We were out in the field a lot, mostly in CA (Central America). Remember Noriega? We were there. Sometimes I get the old straight razor out, just to show off for my son's buddies. You should see the looks on their faces. Then I get the throwing knives out, and ask for volunteers to hold a cigarette in their mouth. Good way to keep them off cigarettes, especially if I've had too much coffee that morning.
