[glow=red,2,300]dry shaving? that is brustal and couragous, really. i need water or shaving cream. my face is too darn sensitive to go dry or using a straight edge like in the barber shops.
you know, i tried the mach 3, but the blades got dull after 7 shaves. i don't get it. i don't have steel wool hair, but oh well. everyone has to make a buck at someone else's expense.[/glow]

Dry shaving is cool, but I never liked the straight razors, I just keep that dagger with a paper thin edge and dry shave with that. . .
Only times I've ever been dissapointed by dry shaving with that dagger was when I shaved my face, I didn't even feel the cut the dagger was so sharp. . .I needed about 6 stitches though. . .

I use the vibrating gillete mach 3 or whatever it's called. Suppesdly I read somewhere the vibration actually does make the hair stand on end to give a cleaner, closer shave. Dunno if it's true.. and can't say I really care. I got the thing on sale at Target when it was first introduced.
Works pretty good imo and I can get probably 10 shaves out of a razor before I switch? I probably could use them even longer if I really wanted to. I go with the Randy method of shaving most the time, the only difference is I wait about 3 or 4 days to shave, after I got half an inch long stubble. It's a little painful, but I am too lazy to shave everyday [/b]

ok, to tell the truth, I use a gillette mach three. As for that vibrating crap. Who thought it would be a good idea to put a vibrating razor blade on your face? My boss used one and came in covered in band aids the next day. I said, "Jim, what made you think putting a vibrating razor blade on your face was a good idea?" He had no answer. Yes cartridges are expensive, But I am the lucky descendant of a native american and don't have to shave quite as often as most european males. Sombody said that tey don't like gillette because everything they do is gimmickry, but let me point out that schick released the four blade razor.( I do agree with vibrating stuff being stupid though)

I have never once cut my face any worse with the vibrating blade then I did with the regular mach 3. It doesn't give near enough vibration to make you even come close to cutting your face up so I don't know what that guy was doing wrong, but if you just use it like a normal, non-vibrating blade, you should be perfectly fine.
As I said before the whole vibration is suppose to stimulate the hair and make it stand on end to give a cleaner and closer shave, hence the whole idea behind it. I read it was suppose to work in a magazine somewhere, dunno if it actually does, but just passen on the info.[/b]

Ugh--on the commercial that thing looks like it rapidly arcs back and forth from side to side--I could just imagine turning my cheek into venetian blinds with that thing. I'm a bleeder...

Nah, it's more like a very minor pulse/vibration. Like I said, I don't take any extra care when using it, and I have never cut my face any worse then with the regular blade I use to use. Dunno what the hell this Jim guy did wrong...[/b]

I use a Gillette Sensor but I buy a generic brand of 3 bladed cartridges from Wal-Mart. The cartridges have a much smaller head than the Mach3 razors (they get into smaller or tighter areas and are the same size as the sensor heads. They cost much less. I hate shaving so I only do it a couple of times a week. If I'm meeting people or going somewhere special I'll shave though. I like a little stubble but I don't dig the beardo look.

Once again. What makes anyone think that putting a vibrating razor blade on your face is a good idea?
I don't care if it works well. It just seems like a stupid thing to do to me.

Well I have told you the reasoning behind it TWICE now, but I guess I will one last time. Maybe the third times the charm. Anyways, the vibration is suppose to stimulate the hairs and make them stand on end, making for a cleaner and closer shave.
The blade doesn't vibrate anywhere near enough to cut you. You have a better chance of hurting yourself with a dull butternife then the blade, unless of course you are either really stupid or trying to cut yourself.
I have used it for months now, and never had any problems at all. It cost maybe a buck more then the regular, non vibrating one when I bought it at a special introductory price or whatever. It does seem to give a somewhat closer shave. Either way I could care less, it cost almost the same as my original one I had that didn't vibrate, and it doesn't cut you up.. it's not a lawn mower blade. [/b]

Yeah, but when it vibrates, doesn't it cut you up real bad?
