I just got a mega Dremel kit for my birthday and I have absolutely no clue on how to use it. Any of the customizers know where I can find some how-to videos on line, especially using dremels on plastic toys?
My primary goal is to smooth out bumps on chest pieces (like Alpha Ranger's). Ultimately, I'd like to be able to carve like Heyyou, but I'll gladly take baby steps first.

Greyloch, I'm considering buying a dremel, been to the site a few times, was wondering what models of dremel you or any other forum members use or tips on which ones i should consider.

I'm still trying to learn it. I did a bit of sanding on a chest piece, but I think I'll need to get a very fine grit sandpaper to manually smooth everything out.
I did learn that the dremel sucks at trying to cut the softer plastic pieces (esp. Hyper Guardian's cape). It melted more than it was cut. I had melted plastic shavings flying everywhere.
I've taken to using a professional toenail clipper (weird, but it works) to cut the softer pieces in either straight or curved lines.

Dremel... yeah.. good stuff.
1 - wear glasses. If your a righty, the chips go right into your face. If you use those little emery cut off disks, there gonna break. It happens. They're still handy.
2 - dusk mask. I just started cutting my first Xevoz this week and the dust smells really bad to me. A lot worse than model plastic. Steal mom's dust-buster and run it often.
3 - buy carbide bits after you find your favorite shape. Mark the flat end with white out or something.
4 - plastic melts on the bits. I think speeding it up might help but I forget. Run an Exacto blade through the groves to clean them out. BUT DON'T RUN THE BLADE INTO YOUR HAND!
