which one out of the five

i was wondering which one to get first.any recommendations

i got snake eyes and storm shadow first. i'd say snake eyes. just my opinion.

Snake Eyes is the most popular character, and I think the most balanced of the 5 figures. Doesn't especially shine in any one area. I'd say I find him second best in most areas, worst in none.

HD is a huge figure, and hands down his big ass gun is the best weapon in the S6 line. The problem is that's his only weapon, and thus he lacks the versatility of other toys.

Duke looks a bit goofy - I really am not fond of the head sculpt. However, I think he has the best, certainly most versatile, set of accessories.

Spirit is my favorite character design, and uses color very effectively both on the figure and with his accessories. The drawback is that he lacks a gun and he's... well, he's Spirit.

Storm Shadow is a ninja, which for most gives him positive marks right off the bat. However, he lacks really distinctive features - remove the Cobra emblem and he could just be called Generic White Ninja. His accessories are nice, though predictable, and there are some issues (not being able to carry both swords on his back for example). Also he lacks some of the "extra" features of the Joes - the holes on the body for weapon pegs, the name tag, the wrist com, and none of his weapons can interact with the Joe equipment. His pants are the best use of cloth in the line, using a thinner fabric which looks more proportional than what we see in the Joes. In the end, he is exactly what you would expect - nothing more, nothing less.

Then I'd go with Snake Eyes. Like misterd said, he's the most balanced and well-rounded of the bunch.

I was never that fond of the old Spirit figure. As anti-PC as I am, that toy just reeked of stereotyping. This one is a little bit better in that regard, but only a little. However, the rest of the toy is very solid. He is the only one who can comfortably carry all his accessories at once, and those accessories are quite cool. The bow works better than one might hope, given the poor track record of these sorts of toys. It's far from perfect, but far, far better than any other bow toy I've seen before. The arrows are also quite fetching, especially the high tech ones, who's colors really pop out at you (in a good way). The double tomahawk is quite cool, and I even like his big ass bowie knife. Freedom's minor articulation is just one more of the line's little touch that shows the quality of the series because, frankly, it didn't have to be done, and no would have cared if it wasn't.

Stereotyping aside, the only problem I have with Spirit is that he needs a gun. I don't give a damn how good he is with bows and blades - no one in their right mind would go on a modern battlefield without one.

I got Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes first. If you had to get only one to start, I'd get Storm Shadow since he is probably going to be the hardest to find down the road and since he is the only villian in Wave 1.

I want to add one thing about Snake Eyes - Like Storm Shadow, there isn't much more to him than what you would expect a Snake Eyes toy to be. The main difference is that he comes with the little extras (peg holes, wrist com, dog tag) that all the Joe team figures come with, while SS has nothing to match.

I got stormshadow first. Not a bad figure, but the way oversized swords bug me. I got Spirit and Heavy Duty next, and I've gotta say, I really was dissappointed by Spirit. Big time.

But I say get Heavy Duty. I actually really like dang near everything about it.
