I wasn't sure where to post this. But figured a New thread for the review topic. You can merge it back into the other sigma 6 thread if you'd like it there though. anyways, here are the pictures I took of the figures. Quiller-Bee asked for a picture of Stormy without the cloth pants, so there are a few of him. (Flash/no flash = repeat pictures). Ya'll can look at toynewsi.com for some other pictures, etc. img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500007.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500006.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500005.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500004.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500003.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500002.jpgimg.photobucket.com/albums/v236/Your_Number1_Fan/Sigma%206/s3500001.jpgYour Number1 Fan's Sigma 6 Reviews Okay everyone here is my quick 2cent thoughts on the line. I do this first, because I normally jump to the end of a review to the "overall" thoughts... so this is up front. First reaction is "Omg I spent $20 for each figure." While the figures are great, I'm not keen on the price. I have a fixed budget... ya'll know the drill. College student without a job living at home and off savings etc. Add to that delima the laptop I just bought and wow... I'm going to invest in raman noodles until I'm 40. However, for the "normal" $15 most of you will find them for, its worth it. You're getting a quality figure with a ton of accesories. This series will be for the underdog figures. The ones that don't jump out and say "buy me first" are actually pretty good, if not better then the traditional. In my opinion, Snake-Eyes (The "buy me first" figure) is a good figure, but not the best out of my 4 figures so far. Duke, is stunning. Spirit let me down some, and storm shadow picked me back up. So, my ratings on a 5 star grid, 5 being the best. Duke - ***** (5) Spirit - **** (4) Snake Eyes - *** (3.5) Storm Shadow - ***** (5) Packages- The packaging for each figure is great. You shouldn't have to worry about the inside toy being damaged if dropped, etc. Getting the toy out of the packages is a chore though. I think it took me 5-6 min per figure... to open and undo twist ties, remove tape, and those clear rubber band things. Each figure's box forms a weapons create too, which is handy for all of the loose pieces. The Figures- Each figure has pretty close to the same body design. Plugs in the same spots, articulation is the same, etc. They arn't has bendy as a marvel ledgend, but their joints are racheting... which really helps them keep a pose. Each figure comes with some sort of cloth accessory too. I've never been big on the "dress up you figure" toys. They feel like dolls, and well I'm still emotionally scared from my big sister making me play with her barbies. Anyways, the clothes actually work on these figures, and if you don't like them, take'em off. The clothes do have a use though, for example Duke's flack jacket gives the figure weapon storage clips (on his back). The figure's hands are flexible so they can grab their weapons. (kung foo grip?) Each Joe has plugs on their bodies... I don't know what they're for though as only one weapon I've come accross fits into the plug (snake eye's uzi). Storm Shadow however has no plugs on his body. Quick statement about each figure- Duke was the first figure I picked up. He comes with a lot of gun accessories and just looks like a GI Joe should. If you're only going to get one figure, and don't want a ninja, this is your guy then. I like how this figure can carry around most of his weapons with him and feels stable with them equiped. Snake Eyes felt like a let down to me. He is still pretty damn cool, but there isn't a way for him to carry all of his stuff. He comes with two swords, but only 1 fits into his back cloth thingy securely. the other one just flops around. Whats the point of the plugs if nothing attaches to them?! Spirit is a decent figure. He has some bird that comes with him... eh its in his box. The bow actually works, but I haven't found a decent pose of him shooting yet, because of the arm lengths and how they bend. Overall he could be the shelf warmer, but is still impressive. Storm Shadow is the only bad guy in the wave. He looks more like a ninja then ol'Snake eyes too. More low tech but baddass weapons then the other figures. I like the figure more with the cloth pants because it blend the Red/White together more. If ya'll have any questions, let me know. I'll answer to the best of my ability. And do what I can to help. Your Number1 Fan appologizes for typos and if the review was too brief.

Your_Number1_Fan, I'm your number one fan. Thanks for the quick response time with the review of the figures and the photos of the pantless Storm Shadow. (God, do I feel weird talkin' 'bout that . . . . )
Having now seen him both ways, I actually prefer ol' Stormy with the cloth pants on.

Great review, but howcome you passed on Heavy Duty? He's the one I'm most looking foward to.
I checked TRU and KB Friday with no luck, but I guess I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Hey guys, Quiller-Bee- I think you'll like ol'stormy. I forgot to say this, but his pants are a different material, so they fit a little bit nicer then say, Spirit's pants. gives him a nice clean look to the figure. (its nice to have a fan too ) Rage- Heavy Duty is out, and is a huge figure! At $20 bucks a pop at KBtoys, I had to make a choice. And I'm not really digging his gun. The lack of a hand gun basically means he'll have a big ol'gatlin or nothing. So I skipped him for now. Paul M Kelly- thanks for review comment. I don't right very many, so this one probably has its flaws, but ya'll got the jist hopefully. As for Heavy Duty, I'll pick him up eventually, but only at the $15 dollar price point. The figure in person looks pretty nice. I can't say it enough, he looks like a huge figure in the package. Should be very nice in any collection. Good luck finding them everyone. Your Number1 Fan

I don't think I'm going to get these. I was considering it but I'm not thrilled with the sculpts enough for the high $ they are asking. Duke's head looks like it was borrowed from the playskool action heroes line. I might grab a few of the more interesting upcoming Cobra figures if they make it to clearence ailses on the mega-cheap.

I am so on the fence with these....100% because of the price point. I just think $15 a pop is too much here. That being said, I have a sinking feeling I will be unable to pass on these when I do see them, mainly Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (it's all about ninjas and Cobra).
I like the look of Heavy Duty and Spirit (Duke is boring IMO), and would probably get them on clearance, but who knows if these will make it that far.
So I think the two ninjas will be what I get, at least until Wave 2!

Went to my "local" TRU today to try and score some S6, only to find myself, for the first time in my life, grabbing an accessory before the actual toy. That's right - TRU in Middletown NY had out the Ninja Cycle, but none of the figures who are supposed to ride it, so that became my first S6 purchase.
Thankfully a quick trip to KB delivered the actual figures into my hands. At $20 a pop, I wasn't going to get the whole set, but after using gas for the 30 minute trip, I wasn't about to walk away empty handed. I bought Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow and, in a moment of weakness, Spirit Iron-Knife. Given the price, that was probably one figure too many, and I am experiencing a small twinge of buyers remorse, but thankfully the quality of the toys is more than enough to soothe the pain.
My first impression was the packages are much larger than I anticipated, and among the nicest I have ever seen. It's real hard to deny these are well worth the $15 (or $20 at friggin KB). Even the cashier commented how nice they looked. Unfortunately, that packaging comes with a price - they're a bitch to get out of the packaging. Not many twist ties, but they are poorly placed and backed up by a host of those invisible rubberbands.
Snake Eyes Review Snake Eyes was always the star of the Joe team, and he friggin shines here. His sculpt is amazing IMO. For the first time (I think) we can see his eyes, and its neat to see some scars sculpted around them. I don't know how many people will be turned off by the cartoonish sculpt (very similar to Xevoz, which is what turned me on to the line in the first place), but since SE's face is hidden most of the time, he's the least affected by the new design aesthetic. Lean, mean, lethal - he looks more badass than ever.
Articulation will likely be standard across the line - ball jointed neck, hinge&swivel on shoulders, hips, elbows, knees, wrists and ankles, swivel waist and hinged torso. Most of these joints are ratcheted and very tight. As a result, it can be a bit of a bear posing the figure at times, but I find this highly preferable to the floppiness of many Marvel Legends toys.
His hands have a kung-fu grip thing going on so he can handle different size weapons. I have to wonder how well the hands will hold their shape. The weapon handles aren't standard sized, so the thicker handles could well make it harder to hold the smaller items.
Colors are black and olive green, which is a little different, but it works well. Overall he looks like a cross between ARAH Snake Eyes and Xevoz Shadow Blade.
SE's body is covered in small peg holes, which can be used to mount weapons and accessories (again, a call back to Xevoz). However these have a very limited application at the moment, and I'll be curious to see if they have more accessories planned to take advantage of them.
The only cloth on Snake Eyes is his harness. The harness is mostly elastic with two front plastic snap buckles, and foam shoulder pads. Contary to what I expected, the mix of cloth and plastic look quite good together, though that may be due to its limited application.
Two neat additions are a metal dogtag around his neck, a terrific homage to the 12 inch line, and a wrist communicator.
Weapons and accessories are a bit of a mixed bag, as I could do without the climbing gear (next to rocks, I find climbing gear the most boring accessories ever), but what's good is really sweet. There are a pair of tonfa swords and their scabbards. The scabbards fit the blades nicely, and have a side peg which fit the various holes on SE's body (note - early versions lack the pegs). The swords are nicely sculpted, with a blue-edged silver blade and black handle. A non-functioning green trigger is sculpted into the handle, and the tonfa handles can fold back into the hilt. Very nice touch. Also there is a small peg on the end of the hilt which allows you to connect the swords with his dagger.
The dagger is in the same basic style as the swords, minus the tonfa handle and green trirgger. It comes with its own sheath, which has an elastic strap that can be buckled around SE's leg. This is the only problem I have with the figure, as the buckle doesn't hold tightly. A little nail polish or superglue should fix this (and did).
Climbing seems to be SE's gimmick. He has two oversized, translucent green suction disks he can use to cling to your window, and a zip-line magnetic "whip star." The whipstar is also a bit oversized (proportionately about the size of a hubcap), but neat nonetheless. Turn a knob and 4 blades pop out to make it a throwing star. The zip line winds up nicely in the back and has a small hook at the opposite end. A set of handlebars is included to let SE zoom down the line.
Snake Eyes wouldn't be Snake Eyes without his Uzi,and that's included here too, molded in gray with black detailing. It also has a mounting peg so he can carry it on his hip or back (or shin, or bicep or forearm or chest - there's a lot of these holes),and the clip is removable.
Finally, Snake Eyes simply can't be allowed to go in public with his eyes exposed, so there are three options to cover them up. First is a slender metallic blue visor, clearly evocative of his ARAH days. Next is a translucent green telescopic visor (which really makes him look more like Shadow Blade), and finally there is a black gas mask with green goggles.
All in all this is a fantastic figure. I don't know if it will catch on with the kids, but if the line's lifespan is short, I'll always be glad I got this figure.
Getting a bit late. I'll touch back tomorrow with a look at the others.

Are the head, arms, or legs interchangable so you can customize the figures like in Xevoz?

Hopefully I can find these this weekend. I think my first will be heavy duty. Big ass guns always win me over. Has anyone found the kid sized Duke machine gun toy yet? That thing looks pretty cool.

That would be sweet, but sadly, no they aren't. On Snake Eye's swords - the scabbards do have pegs that can plug into his back or leg holes. They don't work as well as on Xevoz, but they do work.

Ninja Cycle Review The Ninja Cycle is much cooler than I had expected, with enough little features to make it worth having, but one drawback that makes it a little hard to use with the figures.
The cycle is a black "crotch rocket" (as my wife calls them) with green and silver trim (complementing Snake Eyes - it is supposed to be his bike, after all). There is a display sticker under the windshield (gas gauge, speedometer, etc) which is thankfully well placed. A S6 logo is found on either side between the seat and handle bars, and there's some silver Japanese characters near the real wheel. The only place where color seems to be lacking is the handlebars, which suffer for the lack of detailing.
The bike is suprisingly large. I am no expert, but I am fairly certain this is a out of proportion to the figures. It feels solid, and justifies its modest price (unlike most past Joe vehicles, the Ninja Cycle sold at the same price as the figures). The wheels are hard rubber (or maybe a very soft plastic?). A permanant kickstand keeps the bike upright, but also manages to stay above the surface when the bike is rolling.
The bike comes with a bevvy of accessories, most of them borrowed from Snake Eyes weapons locker. It has two tonfa swords, two "ninja daggers", an Uzi (here called an RFB) and a whip star, all identical to SE's, save for the colors (note - SE only comes with one dagger, so having a second is a big plus).
In a cost saving move (about the only obvious one in the line), these are all unpainted, only featuring silver gray plastic. All the features remain intact, such as the magnet in the whip star, and the tonfa handles in the swords. I overlooked one feature in my earlier review of SE's equipment - the pegs in the sword are removable, and can be placed in the daggers, thus allowing the possibility of joining two swords or two daggers, as well as a sword-dagger combo.
The bike also comes with a missile which can be loaded and launched from the front of the bike, and two land-mine like detonators.
All these weapons can be stored on the Ninja Cycle, in a way that hides them from casual inspection. The detonators go in recessed grooves behind the front wheel, the swords slide under the seat (the handles stick out considerably), the Uzi is holstered on the side, daggers drop down into the gas tank, and the whip star sits over the gas tank, its knob doubling as the gas cap. While it is unlikely that this "stealth mode" would stand much scrutiny, it would keep Snake Eyes from being singled out by the local State Trooper.
There are weapon peg holes behind each headlight which allow the swords or Uzi's to be mounted for combat. Likely these will work with any other weapon that has these pegs.
Hover mode is activated by pressing two buttons. The first turns the front wheel on its side, and the second splits and raises the rear tire. It sits rather well upon the kickstand and frame, wheels well above the ground, so it sort of appears to hover when left on display.
If this is all there was, I would highly recommend the bike. The only minor drawback is the lack of painted weapons, but those can mostly be swapped out for Snake Eyes' own.
Unfortunately Snake Eyes doesn't sit too well on the bike. The wind star on the gas tank pushes the seat too far back. He has to lean far forward, which lifts his ass off the seat, and even with the ball jointed neck, he can't quite look forward.
The handlebars are also a bit too large for his hands, and I fear they may deform the hands to the point where he won't be able to hold his weapons.
Finally, while the foot rests are wide, they need a peg to secure the figure.
In the end, it takes a bit of fiddling to get Snake Eyes placed properly on the motorcycle, and even then his ass is about 3mm off the seat. (note: I have not tried it yet with other figures yet).
All in all, a very cool vehicle, whose main drawback is its awkward fit with the figures it was meant for. If you are a completeist, this is a no brainer, and a decent value. It will look very nice on display, and even has a good amount of play value. However, for those just dabbling in the line, this not is a must have, nor is it a must avoid. If you think its something you would want, I would recommend it. If not, or if you are unsure, wait a bit. Better to get the figures first.
