Here is the SHORT* and sweet story on Stikfas: (*this is NOT short)
In 2003 they(Hasbro/Stikfas PTE) made a tech-license deal with Hasbro. What the specifics are is NOT known. What we can suppose(witness) is this:
A) Hasbro can use the ball/socket design for a new line (XEVOZ). Interviews have suggested that *if* Xevoz dies... stikfas can pick it up. However... those same interviews have said CLEARLY: HASBRO IS NOT DONE with Xevoz. (ie: this deal is STILL current)
B) That hasbro will share chineese mnufctr resources and distribute STIKFAS via its distribution channels (ie: TRU)
What happenned next: * Xevoz began * TRU started carrying Stikfas
By the end of 2004, niether was doing very well at TRU (despite being REALLY COOL toys).
*Xevoz was shelved. The 4th wave delayed. *Stikfas resumed control of distribution, choosing SMALL outlets and internet retailers to go after the smaller-but-saught-after Adult collectors market. SAIZON INC. is formed in Montreal, Canada to ship and distribute Stikfas AFK in North America. Tomy in Japan, and others have followed.
What does this mean:
1. Stikfas has flourished in the small e-tail and comic-shop markets. As a result you may not have a brick and mortor store near you. 2. Online retailers of Stikfas are in pretty fierce competition. This has resulted in price drops at you-buy-now and several other outlets. 3. Some old TRU kits are available on the internet for VERY cheap (knight, monk, dragon, mech)... but the others... the popular ones have been gobbled by COLLECTORS and the values of some kits are becoming quite high.
WHY LOOK AT STIKFAS?
If you are here, you like Xevoz. You LIKE the molds and the style and the size... you may not be into the "generic" or DIY action figure market... so Stikfas may not be your thing...
...yet.
It is a not good secret that stikfas is a fast-growing company, and their ball/socket designs are very cool... but that the real value will be plumbed when the company heals a little from all the good sales it has been making.
What is next? Heh... something you xevoz guys may like. Keep yer eyes peeled. ;D

Oh boy oh boy! This sounds cool. Hmmmmm. Perhaps Xevoz kits, without the game, or maybe unpainted kits ... also without the game? Whatever it may be, I'll keep 'em peeled for certain.

nixon, you keep dropping these hints and messages and getting my hopes higher and higher. I can't wait to see what's in store for us on down the road. (Which hopefully will not be TOO far down the road....)
