Finally found ONE Sky Grinder at Target in Wexford, PA...
and that was the sole Wave 2 figure they had. I'm happy to have him, but I'd really like to get a couple more Sky Grinders, and a couple of Dune Stingers at Shock Beserkers as well....

[glow=navy,2,300]Everything except the 2-pack. I left the boosters alone and bought the Sky Grinders.

Pardon my rant:
The Targets around here suck. Bigtime. I've been going in one to twice a week for the past two months...
and have seen virtually nothing new. I haven't seen so many bare pegs since K-Mart was having its financial difficulties...
Some lines only have one toy on the pegs...
the Xevoz collection consists of two Sledge Troopers, and a few wave 1 boosters...
I've never seen Targets so understocked in toys, and I'm wondering what the heck is going on.

Mabye they're renovating, my Target did that, and there was nothing there at all or they're having trouble getting stuff in because of the overly expensive gas prices (just what I think)

I stopped by Target today because Thursday is typically when the restock around here. Everything looked just as it did last week with the exception of some new Spiderman and SW stuff I know Wave 2 has shown up there based on the new packaging on the boosters but they keep selling out of the new ones. That I'm happy about but it's getting a bit annoying. I also know that the TRU about an hour away from me had wave 2 as well. They had a ton of boosters with the new packaging but as usual no new figs. I'm extemely jealous of them , they had almost 3 feet for Xevoz! Here I am trying to cram as much as I can into a 1' section

Everytime I go to one of the other stores, they always have so many more items than we do. I learned though that it's based on the size of the city the store is located in. They'll send you what the HQ thinks you need for your customer base and that means we get screwed on a lot of stuff. I'm thinking it might be the same for TRU.

Actually CJK, the newer packaging was a running change during wave 1 (approximately 2-3 months back now), so it does not necessarily mean that wave 2 has actually shown up in your area, yet.
Hopefully we will start to see more disto. on wave 2 really soon, because as patient as I generally am (and although I, for once, am not amongst the waiting masses) to wait for product to roll out, it's starting to make me a bit nervous that things are moving this slowly and this erratically.
Oh well, soon enough I suppose.

[glow=navy,2,300] Shane - Do you know is the production run was decreased from wave 1 to wave 2? I'm wondering when we do see a wider arrival of wave 2 at retail if it will be pretty much quickly consumed because there was less made or if we will see it sit stagnant because there is as much of it made as there was in the initial 1st series release. I'm hoping it's the former. I would want enough supply to meet demand, but I also want there to be retailer interest and space to accomodate series 3 in a couple of months too.

Your correct, I already knew that from the Master Modifiers but I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part. I remembered it the hard way today when I opened up 2 cases of boosters and nothing new...refresh cases...the first ones we've had. Which means TRU hasn't worked it's way up to wave 2 yet. We just started the refreshers out here

SS:
Well SS, I am by no means the authority here, but knowing how Hasbro works I would highly doubt that the wave 2 production run is going to be anything less than wave 1, unfortunately however, it may end up appearing that way due to the packing ratios.
IMHO, after six months of wave 1 being on the shelves, re-packing figures from wave 1 with wave 2 was a serious mistake. Wave 1 was (and is) excellent (this is my personal favorite toy line ever), but from how many lines do you see the same figures still shipping up to six months after their initial release? Especially when considering that there were only 3 basic figures, 2 deluxes, and 1 two pack, in wave 1. It's one thing when a wave consists of say (hypothecitally, seeing as how ratios like this rarely ever happen) 8 figures at 1 of each per case. But, when we're talking 3 figures in an 8 figure case, one would think that there have already been more than enough to go around (and I'm seeing and hearing more multiple buying going on with this line than I have EVER heard before).
I'm also noticing that I'm seeing more and more peg warming (aside from TRU now that there is another sale) in the past two months. Peg warming is dangerous for a line, it implies to people (retailers, parents, kids, and anyone else who doesn't frequent message boards) that the line is at the very least stagnant (potentially even dead), and again when we're talking about the same 7 figures on the same shelves for up to six months now (shruggs), I'm sure that things will come around soon.
Now, as far as things go, I'm still fully under the belief that most of what we are seeing is due to the normal seasonal fluctuation. Next time you're out hunting, take a quick look around at some of the other lines, you will quickly notice that there have been very few new additions to any of the existing toy lines over the past couple of months. Toy companies don't want to short change themselves, shortpacking is a retailer thing, not a toy company thing. Under producing any figure from a line with the numbers like what Xevoz has seen since it's initial public release, would simply be a poor decision.
None-the-less, keep in mind that wave 2 is supposed to be re-packed in fairly even ratios with wave 3, so the wave 2 that we are seeing now is more of a hold-over through the summer, than anything else.
CJK:
Sorry that I haven't been very active around here the past week or so (still reading everything just no time to post), I've been extremely busy with work. Sorry to hear that TRU (and you) still haven't seen any of wave 2 basics yet CJK, it really does suck that so many of the hard core fans are having such a hard time finding what they want.
God speed troops, hopefully we'll start to see more from wave 2 at retail (including TS and SP) in the VERY near future.
