I was just at Target hunting down an elusive Transformer I had been looking for and used their DCPI number (I think that's what it's called) that someone posted on another board, which showed it as being in the back, not on the floor, so a stock person was nice enough to go back and grab me on. Anyway on to my point... as most of you are probably familiar with, that number (DCPI) is the string of numbers that appears on your reciept in front of the product name, all you have to do in the store is punch it into one of those price scanners they have around the store, and it will tell you if it's in stock, and/or if it's on the actual shelf. I know it's really only doable at Target, but i think it would be awesome if we could to post these numbers when figs come in at Targets to give everyone a better chance at finding figures. Anyone for it?

Ok, I just bought myself a Cryo-Preda two pack at Target tonight and I asked an associate if they had any in the back and about the code. All the products of Booster, Master, or Two packs share the same code. Thing is Target employess are very helpful in going in the back and seeing what they have if the code shows they have product of that code in the back..so ask and ask em to look in the back.

Actually, it should be a different DCPI (If I recall correctly, I delieve that it stands for "Department Code Product Inventory" or something to that effect), for each different facing of product. DCPI's are the internal proprietary code numbers that Target uses to track product throughout their company.
Unfortunately, this means that all basic figures (as well as all deluxes, 2 packs, etc.) will have the same DCPI number, even across different waves. That is, unless Target updates the number for one reason or another, and then that new number would become the DCPI for all figures in a particular assortment.
If you want to know the DCPI numbers look for a string of numbers (I believe that it is in the lower corner of the printing on the shelf label, or on your receipt as MondoChuck said) starting with 3 digits, a space, then 2 digits, another space, then 4 digits.
Of course it has been many years since I've paid any attention to DCPI's so some of this information may have changed, I'll have to look the next time I'm in a Target.
