Didn't see any threads like this, and since we have quite a few Lego fans, thought I'd open up the discussion.
Post anything in relation to past or present fantasy or historical theme Lego sets. I'm talking about Castle, Ninjas, Western, Pirates, Adventurers, or the newest Vikings sets.
I just recently got back into Legos thanks to the Vikings sets appearing for sale in the US. I totally realized how much better I am at making my own castle style Lego Creations. I can't build space or furturistc vehicles for crap.
Anyway if you have some cool pics of your own creations, thoughts or reviews on past and present sets, go ahead and post them here.

this is old. The Kings line, you won't find it on the site anymore its discontinued, I think it's pre lego website even. You'd best ebay that stuff now. I miss the old old style knights helmets. You know: the old space helments but with a face plate with the single T slit in it... does anyone remember that? I can't believe I was so into those Lego robinhood things.... The knight sets now... the guys are cool, but its just gotten worse with the big molded useless pieces that are fine for building up castle structure, but not great for cooler stuff, like robots and killer copters with gatling guns. I suppose you could make some crazy huge cool castle by mixing in Harry Potter pieces.

That helmet was with the King Leo's castle era. Being a history buff, I love the castles and vikings. I missed out on a lot of goods stuff. The new castle series is pretty weak. I try to find auctions with good old knights, but most are in the UK (extra $$$ for shipping) and are usually huge amounts like 300 figures. That's a little more than I can chew. I wish Lego would, once a year, reissue an old series. I was lucky to get King Leo's Castle 2-3 years ago. I also got the Bat Lord set, forget it's name. It had pretty cool stuff.

The lego chess set has a bunch of helmets like that, granted they are all bright blue... not really great for sort of a real army...

Couldn't you technically use the RIT dye method to dye lego parts closer to the color you want, dark gray for example? On a similar note I found this guys work on brickshelf. He's painted and detailed the new Knights Kingdom armor and helments. They look pretty dang cool in a realistic color. I might have to try this. Check out his other work too... really cool custom Roman armor! www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=73667www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=145457

Lego pieces are difficult to dye. I haven't done it, but heard it. The helmet might be easy to do. I've considered spray paint but am unfamiliar with it.

In the first few years, they made a generic face with 2 eyes and a smile. Then they used that and added facial hair. It wasn't until mid 90's when Lego figures got personality in their face. 2) You're subconsious is a cheap bastard.
