I haven't picked any up myself. But i've been very tempted. The giant skelaton ship looks ultra cool. I guess the mini figs actually have a decent range of motion. Jointed knees elbows, ball socket shoulders. Kinda interesting.

I do not have any Pirates but if the main subject of the kit (ship, fortress, etc) are made of the usual mega blocks, stay away.
Mega Blocks LOOK great and have some relay cool designs but they don't stay together well. Might cause some frustration for kids who actually play instead of just display.

Believe me, the [huge] pirate ship is awesome! As for the figures, I absolutely love the skeletons! They have great articulation (for that kind of figures) and have a lot of detail on them too. They are kind of a mix between Mez-Its and LEGO characters IMO.

I'm redoing my son's room in a pirates theme and he has a shelf filled with various pirate ships....I have been so tempted to get that skeleton ship, but at $50, I have passed thus far. Looks really cool though!

I find that all of the mega-bloks I have are actually pretty high-quality. I've collected quite a bit of the stuff, and have run into very few problems with pieces not fitting, or stuff like that. In general, I like the detail of the sets and figures. Plus, they have more and more licensing going there way, so the diversity of series is pretty good.
I'd heartily recommend Mega-Bloks!
