I just went to the site just now, I visit it as often as I visit the Xevolution... shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=10179&cn=416OMG I think I have to have this... It's to minifig scale and has like 5000 pieces... I've been avoiding the ultimate collectors series... but this is just truly freaking amazing looking and will be in scale with my other star wars legos... except for say Jaba's Sail barge, the sandcrawler, Star Destroyer, AT-AT.. ok none of the non fighter SW sets are to true minifig scale. These are the new trilogy sets coming out later this year. Pretty cool, the MTT especially. Everytime I think the run out of things to make, they make it. I guess SW legos do really well for lego... unless TF2007 says otherwise looks like they are cancelling the Avatar lego line. www.theprivateuniverse.co.uk/cgi-bin/showarticle.pl?section=news&articleid=1403

That thing is crazy sweet. $500?!? That's why I quit collecting Legos.

The set is awesome, and from what I hear it's very sturdy (They chose to make it sturdy instead of making the inside a play set like with the $100 Star Destroyer), but I won't be buying it. I've never been a big fan of the Falcon.
The avatar LEGO sets are cool, but weren't really marketed that well. How hard would it be to put an commercial on the DVD sets, or at least place a print add in there. Lots of other companies do that. Synergy isn't a bad thing.

Crazybirdman, you're absolutely right, and it appears bad advertising has been a problem for us and our favorite toylines. Looks like Lego is still doing Spongebob for 2007, I guess it's done well for them. I've seen two Batman sets for 2007 too, Scarecrow and the Batcopter, and then a Battank set with the treds used in the lego Sandcrawler set, and it includes a blue cowl batman, Bane, and the Riddler. Avatar suffers from a lack of good material to make play sets from. The cartoon is excellent, it has great characters, great writing, and draws from a wealth of Asian inspired themes... and has some of the best action sequences I've seen in a cartoon. To see the license not reach its potential is truly disappointing. I was really looking forward to a Earth Nation set, Appa, and maybe a Water tribe set or 2. I was never into them, but the Harry Potter 5 sets are horrendously boring. shots can be found over at Action-figure.com 's Toy Fair 2007 coverage. 74.52.193.82/events/main.php?g2_itemId=4425I'm pretty sure Lego lost their Spider-man movie license to mega-blocks or something, which unfortunately means no lego venom, or Sandman for me. Anyways back to the subject. I was disappointed by no interior on the Falcon, but stability is nice and also I think the interior on the ESB MF is good enough for playability. It's a great set and I ordered it, which puts off a ps3 purchase for 2008 or something... It's all about finding a place to put it now. I heard because it is sturdy it can be ceiling mounted... but who on earth feels safe with 5000 pieces of lego held up by wires to a cement ceiling with screws... In anycase, once this thing gets delivered in October I'll have time to figure that out.

No more Avatar sets? That's a shame. I just got into the show and thought of getting them while they're still available. I think Lego has gotten very lazy with set designs. The Star Wars sets have become very boring, the Avatar sets looked pretty dull, even some of their "original" set ideas have become less detailed. They focus too much on Bionicle which I loathe (they are horribly over priced. They would cost probably half the price if they scrapped the stupid canisters). Batman sets have been very boring as well. I think my days of collecting Legos will end.

I haven't bought a full priced LEGO set in years (I'd never pay full priced for LEGO again either), but then again we can pretty much build anything I want from they 3 48 gallon rubbermaid boxes we have out in our storage building.
