I don't think these are too bad. I'm not into coorperate icon collecting, but If I was (a lot of people are) I'd definately be excited by those PVCs. Those are coming in two packs like the Star Wars Galactic Heroes and will be sold for around 5 bucks. A inexpensive little collection if you are into that sort of thing and they look to be more fun than the regular 3 3/4 inch Star Wars collection IMO. However, my boys and I will stick to the regular Galactic Heroes collection instead.
If you want to see something truely horrible checkout McFarland's Twisted Fairy Tales statues. I've never seen a bigger waste of plastic in my years of figure buying.

Plastic commercials like that should be given out free, or in exchange for proofs of purchase and what not. I read the recent review of those Fairy Tales on Michael Crawford's site a few days ago. They are terrible. Unimaginative, stiff, poorly sculpted wank fantasies. I hate that crap.

Hey come on! I can tell you guys are not big Star War fans.
They're kinda cool and have their own flavor in their own sort of way. I like these prequel figures better then the "real" ones. Makes me want to take a bite out of one.
Though if they charge a lot of money for these or if I have to fight hardcore rabid SW collectors to get them, I'll pass.
My favorites: 1)Luke (Come one that clueless look is priceless) 2)Emperor(not shown on this site) 3)Darth Maul (looks tasty) 4)Anakin 5)Boba 6)R2D2

IT's not that I'm not a Star Wars fan, and I really liked the dark chocolate M&Ms, but I just don't see the point of making toys of the Star Wars M&M guys. It's just more money for George Lucas's greedy bank account.

I actually like these. I am a big SW fan, have been since I was a kid and saw the originals, but as a collector, SW toys are daunting. There are SO many figures, ships, etc., that 'collecting them all' is near impossible. I pretty much have all that I want now, so I've stayed away from the new figures etc. What I do like to get now is the really silly SW stuff, like the Darth Tater, Galactic Heroes, etc. At least they're different and funny. The 3 3/4" started to bore me a LONG time ago. I'm not sure if I'll actually get these M&M figures, maybe just the Boba Fett pack cuz he's always been my favorite character, but I at least think they're cooler than the glut of other crap that is clogging up toy aisles everywhere.

I actually like these. I am a big SW fan, have been since I was a kid and saw the originals, but as a collector, SW toys are daunting. . My problem isn't my fanhood, or lack thereof--I am hardcore for SW, in fact. I think for alot of first Generation fans like myself, the adorning of corporate mascots in the once sacred costumes of SW is simply the last cherry to be popped. SW has lost ALL its innocence now, and has sunk to the level of Shrek--the new movie was essientially a 2 and a half hour toy commercial, and they really don't even try and disguise it anymore. I hate anthropomorphic candy. I hate computer generated, unimaginatively rendered corporate mascots. And I hate, hate, hate the idea of SYNERGY. This is all those things, mixed into a big, rusty, steel pail, vomited on by Satan, and thrown in our faces. My friends say I take Star Wars way too seriously. ;D

Yoda? I think he's in series 2. That picture only shows series 1.
Randy, I love ya bro but you are starting to remind of the guy on the RTM buzz board that claimed Lucas raped his childhood. These campy movies have always been tied into huge cross marketing campaigns and have always capitalized on making a cheap buck on a wide array of strange merchandise. Lucas set the standard for movies like this to rack up the merchandising revenues for family films back in the late seventies. I still remember by 1977 R2 bop bag (inflatable punching bag). Still nothing is more horrific in my mind that that horrible french kiss Jar Jar sucker from episode I.

I know it's fun to poke at Lucas for making a load off these movies but seriously who here wouldn't...
A. make/ tell the story of a movie series the way they envisioned it even if it meant facing the disgruntled fan's spears and critical ridicule of those who think the movies would have been better if formed to their personal tastes. It's not like the films have been ridiculously unsuccessful or unpopular under his watch no matter how much people hate the actors who have portrayed annakin or loathe Jar Jar Binks.
B. take as much money as companies have laid at his feet for all the merchandise. Sure, we can call him lucash and it is funny, but now many of us have or would turn down the millions and the notoriety of seeing our creations make into every form of product on the planet?
I'm sorry to say it, but I'm not sure if I'd have stuck to my guns on question A under heavy fire from some old school fans and I know I'd take the money and run on question B with a smile on my face.
