Yep, a thread about Power Rangers. I've started watching the show last year and like it. I was wondering, am I the only one thinking Power Rangers are cool?
I know my favorite series has to be Dino Thunder. I loved it. I reminded me a lot of the original MMPR show bacl in the 90's.

Um, I guess so. I used to like the show back in the 90's, when it was actually lame Kung-fu footage with rangers super-imposed on the film. The only reason I watched it was to make fun of it. "Look at the silly rubber robots" I would say as I sat indian style on the floor in my footsie Pajama's eating Dunkaroos. Ah, Good times, good times. I have not seen any PR show until the legend of zurgg movie (what is this, like season 19?). Maybe it as quality, maybe not.
*MMM, Dunkaroos*

I collect the Mecha. I don't buy them all, but the ones I like. started with the Hurricanger series. the black Senpuujin and Gouraijin set. Then picked up the american Tenkuujin so I could do all the cool stuff shown on this link. www.sentaitoys.com/hurri/11.htmlThen, after a long pause I wasn't sure if I was going to continue the collecting them. But I did, and got www.sentaitoys.com/aba/42.html right as the series was ending this last X-mas. I kicked myself as finding the other sets was impossible. I did however pick up the american version of Killeroh www.sentaitoys.com/aba/36.html and am glad I did because it came with another mecha. Then I found a small set that had two zords and a figure... they were extra "arm" zords for the two main mechs. Then I started looking for Max Ohja www.sentaitoys.com/aba/41.html which was very discouraging. why? because every toys r us said they were out, and they wouldn't get more. However, I happened to be at a toys r us a week after X-mas, and saw one. the box wasn't perfect, but I picked it up as the toy looked good still. the purple zord wasn't released in the states, and i haven't found one through import stores. oh well. I picked up the mecha you see now for dekaranger, SPD something here. Its like a cop car, and some others that all join. very short compaired to the other sets. In April I got this for my Birthday, www011.upp.so-net.ne.jp/FILITHEYO/MAGIKING.htmIt rocks. best mecha in a long time. the legs have knees, and ankles that make it look like the "robot" mode is flying. Its pretty cool. the next one I'll be getting will be this set members9.tsukaeru.net/ty1_toys/toys/DX_WOLKAISER_01.htmbut probably won't get it for a while. When I was hunting for the Max Ohja I started watching the show. I had seen a few episodes of the series before, but nothing consistant. It looked pretty good and a few levels above the originial rangers. the Aba rangers show rocked too. I saw most of the series through reruns, and enjoyed it. I haven't seen any of the series that is on now. Just haven't had the time, nor have I thought about video taping it. my final vote= power rangers are still pretty damn cool. I just wish I had all my old mecha to stand beside the new ones. Your_Number1_Fan

Oman, I loved Power Rangers. Back in the day, when Tommy was running around as the Green Ranger, that was the best!
I watched Dino Thunder last season, it was fun. I'm not really caring about this season, but maybe next season will be better.

Wow, I never would have thought people actually watched this crap anymore. I used to watch it waaaaay back in the day, back when they were just the plain Power Rangers, and the only new thing they added was the Green Ranger, who was by far the coolest....along with his Godzilla-esque robot. What was it's name again?
And then, they had to go and over-complicate it, thereby ruining it. It pisses me off so much when they do stuff like that to cool things.
Anyway...my bro and I used to have a bunch of the original toys which, at the time, were nigh-frickin-impossible to get. Also, back then a subway ride only cost a nickel, and we had to give up the rubber in our shoes to send it overseas to the boys in the war, that was if we even HAD shoes. And we had to walk uphill to school, both ways, in the snow. And......where was I?

I used to love the Power Rangers, now I look at it and say to the latest season and say: "SPD? That sounds like some...bodily function or something"

What, no one knows dunkaroos? Oh I remember those. Brown kangaroo wearing a green vest advertising cookies you'd 'dunk' in some chocolate or odd looking white sauce. Never been a big fan ;D I liked the Turbo megazord a lot, seeing as it's cars and looks like a Transformers combiner. Pretty much all the robots have been decent. And some of them were great.

The best story line was Tommy going from green ranger to white ranger (both awesome). I agree. The white ranger was great. But IMO, the reason why everyone remembers that and nothing from 'important' events from the other series is, besides the fact that people did not watch the other series, the green/white ranger storyline was a lot more fleshed out and lasted longer than the half hour episode where they introduce new rangers or the like nowadays. (Now *that's* a long sentence!) For anyone who watched Dino Thunder, the coming of the white ranger was awesome as well. Better than Tommy turning white IMO. And, in SPD, the appearance of the Shadow Ranger was pretty neat too.

Mmmm, I remember Power Rangers. Before I moved to England I was big into them. We all were, down here. Not too fond of the newer stuff. (actually, the last power ranger series I saw was back in 1999?) The old stuff was the best. That weird witch lady, the weird blue baboon man, the odd 'lost in space' robot.... Ah, good times.
I saw a PR toy in KB the other day that made me want to kill myself. Blue dog man? what's with that?

Yes, yes I loved this show in the 90's man I still have hundreds of blue ranger toys but, they are getting sexist and to teen-related now-a-days.
And too many acronyms here SPD sounds like STD
PR makes me think Puerto Rican (Stupid West Side Story)
Syllaw as used by MoonKnight reminds me of Syphillis
