I got two of the kits for X-mas, Stealth Hunter and Thunder Fury, and picked up the remaining kits in the series while running around this week. I've built them all, but haven't had the time to sit down and apply the stickers. They do look pretty plain jane without stickers. I'm tempted to pick up a few duplicate kits, and try a paintwash or set them on fire... for some "battle damage"/older looking mecha. It could also be cool to dye the bricks all one color.... anyone tried this with lego before? does it work?
i am not really a lego collector, but just had to get this series for my mecha hunger to be settled. I'd recomend them to anyone looking. Wish they'd put up the alt modes for the kits though because some of the designs look better then the mech and I'm too much of a lego-noob to try and build them without instructions.

You know, I have all sets now except the robot hoverbike, and in the manual it lists a website for the alternative models. I'm pretty sure. I don't have it right now, but I'll try and confirm as soon as I get back home.

Has anyone seen the new sets, slated for June (apparently)? www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=159032That Striking Venom is a definite for me, which will satisfy my urge for a "big" mech, but I'm not so sure about the tank or that base set....which looks.....crappy. Picked up the remaining two large mechs yesterday so I can stop buying these things already. Havent built Grand Titan yet, but Fire Vulture rules for one reason, and one reason alone: that flamethrower ROCKS. Seriously, its like the best "weapon accessory" in the line thus far. If I were, you know, crazy....I would actually believe the thing might actually launch fire. For Lego, its very realistic looking.

WOW!
Nice find!!!
I think they all look great (like the tank, the spider mech, and the mecha that come with the base. dunno about the base itself)... but those prices scare me. so far i feel that you get a great lego set for a reasonable price... I'll have to see the sets in store before i make a final decision of "is it worth it" etc

Yeah the mecha that come with the Sentai haupt Quartier are awesome. The Hero Tank looks like an awesome vehicle, but as far as pieces go, its just as bad as the droid missile tank from SW: Episode 2 It's all technic. My fear is that you'll end up with a lot of huge orange pieces. Especially with the base set which when combined with the gate set, you have a lot of flimsy looking (yet very conceptually cool) picket fences. I like the scorpion robot mini the best. Man I thought I was done with it all after the revamped SW sets for this year, but looks like Lego with have me with its exo force and soon to be announced Batman legos... DAMN DAMN IT ALL.

ps- what transformers were you after minion? Didnt see your question at first, but I was looking for Cyb. Galvatron and the new Alts. Still havent found those, but the Lego's have kept my attention over the last few days so its not too bad. Built all 4 of the larger mechs and picked up 1 more of the Sentry and Uplink sets, for symmetrical purposes. I dont really have a favorite (they're all actually pretty good), but I am sort of partial to Grand Titan, after putting on the gatling gun from Thunder Fury's chest on GTs rotating laser cannon. That arm looks so much more substantial with this slight mod. And it appropriately spins! I'm now debating picking up the Gate Assault set...

Lego Exoforce is cool in my opinion, it is great for mecha lovers who only have a passing interest in customizing figures yourself or have low lego skills. The instructions guide you enough through the basic design that it gives you ideas for making simple customizations like doubling the number of missiles or adding a should er mounted rocket or laser.
Minion, Gate Assault is kinda pricy. I got it on sale, but for $29.99, it makes you think twice. If price is no issue then definitely pick it up. The Robot battle machine(surprsingly has no name) actually looks cool even without stickers, due to the jagged armor pads. He would make a great commander for your sentry squad.
I think the reason most figures looks so plain without stickers is the flat 2D look of the legos piecies, most of which are very rectangular squarish looking.

I agree with you there, Mach9, it does seem a little pricey at $30 for 2 $5 mechs, a vehicle, and a "gate" that protects...nothing. However, I've got gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, so I could get this thing for about $10, which would work. I dont think I would even build the gate, but use the pieces to add more armaments to my other mechs. The two mechs it comes with look awesome, and I agree with your comments about the "robot battle machine" (that is odd that it doesnt have a proper name). I really like the human mech and its missle weapon; that extra "ammo belt" hanging off of it looks really good.

I went ahead and got the Stealth Hunter last week (nothing says "stealth" quite like a WHITE mecha, but it looks pretty darn nice), and got the smaller Uplink and Sentry units today. I'm pretty impressed with them overall, and will definitely pick up the Flame Vulture next...
As for instructions for the alternate models: I get the feeling they're at the official Lego website, or will be posted soon... Haven't bothered to check there quite yet, myself.

Yeah the arms on my little robot units fall down due to the weight of their weapons. I'm not sure how to fix this. also, check out the exoforce website. they have instructions for the combined modes... and have broken down the alt modes into a series of 4-5 pictures showing how they were built. ((ie- it isn't step by step)) Your Number1 Fan

OK.......i am having some slight difficulties on the txockpit (flight deck, pilot chambers....whatever) on the stealth wasp construction. if anyone has already assembled this, wants to help out, or has access to better pics than the 2 shown on the lego site, let me know. thanks.
**UPDATE** OK, i got it figured out and rigged up (close enough anyways) shortly after the original post. It looks great but it is also very fragile. i will have to scrounge up some spare parts to reinforce most of it.
