I use to kinda be into Playmobile when I was younger. I even have an old western sheriff building in the basement somewhere (need to drag it out sometime for Quick Slinger.. )They definetly are coool, but sometimes can be pretty expensive. Unfortunetly they have never really had a huge gathering in the U.S. it seems, or if they have, they don't really see much of a large scale release here. I know not too long ago Target started carrying (after they have been out what, 30 years?), but they never seem to move.
Anyways, those sets definetly look cool. The food sets would be awesome to use as props with Xevoz They even have Frie Drakes long lost brother![/b]

I just recently became aware of the whole Playmobil world, thanks (once again) to the enthusiasm of Mr. Stinkhead, and I have to say that my wife and I are officially hooked. Just incredibly imaginative (and sometimes downright peculiar - check out the "bunnies" line). Plus the fact that the mindset is (naturally) European, which leads to an openness about certain aspects of life that US toys don't normally feature. Of these new ones, the butcher shop and the captive prince are outstanding - especially since the prince has rats crawling on him. BTW, probably the best source for these is off of the Playmobil website www.playmobil.com/index.htmlShipping is entirely reasonable, and service is very quick. While Target & TRU stock them, they have the same 3-4 sets constantly - usually big, high-ticket ones.

Nothing Playmobile was more strangely disturbing or funny in a dark humor sort of way than the hobo set I saw many years ago.

Haven't seen that one, but it does sound pretty twisted. BTW, this site www.collectobil.com/index.htmlis an interesting resource for past Playmobil sets - although it does, of course, trip the "gotta have that" button in my psyche far too often.

if only playmobil was a bit bigger......it would totally be xevoz land. That would rock. Iron specter working at the bakery, or Dune Stinger using the atm. I'd buy that for sure.

I like playmobils animals exclusively. What is that weird plastic they're made out of that feels like sanded wood, but more cool and pleasant to touch?
