Just saw these guys at Target. Seem kinda like a new make of dino riders. The website is www.dinowarriors.com THe wife got fed up of me not making up my mind so we bought all we could find. They are no Xevoz, not even close, but I bought them cause they looked cool and to support a new product. I will try to post some pics later this week if I have time. I can also answer any questions anyone has on them. Peace.

Saw these today when I was hunting for We Love Katamari. Neat enough to pick up and look at, but not enough for me to buy. Also kinda neat that it looks like an independent company.

Yeah, I check these out evertime I'm at Target. I'm kinda interested in them. I collect the vintage Dino Riders, so something like this kinda appeals to me. Almost like a fantasy version of Dino Riders. Kinda cool to see a new toy company trying something interesting like this.

The humans have more range of motion than the Dino Riders of old. (God I loved those toys, I wish I would have been able to get them all.) These guys have knee and elbow joints. The weapons actually fit into the hands instead of clipping on. Pretty much everybody is built off of the same body style (1 style for neomen and 1 style for darkthals) with different head sculpts for everybody. They do have interchangeable armor but I don't know how well the pegs will hold up. And a weapon can fit on their backs as each comes with two. The Zaurids have mouth, leg and arm movement only. I would have liked head articulation but you know what they say about beggars and choosers. I am still in the process of pics.

I agree with Gurzil, I saw these and picked them up, but passed on them all. They do look decent though, there's just far too much stuff I want to grab something like these.

A little too barbaric for my tastes something more articulated and elegant, something like Dinotopia, would suit me more. I would love to see the little pteradon scouts from dinotpoia be translated into plastic. Alas sweet fantasies -| Peace |-

Interesting. This may sound horribly mean and I know that kids will play with anything but there should be a governing body for plastic distribution and usage rights: when some half-ass idea comes thru the mill, it should be denied plastic. I'm talking about McFarlane dragons, my little pony, the huge freakin starscream, lego belville, visionaires, mortal kombat figures, chinese knockoff toys, the list goes on and on. That said, its great that an independent company is getting Target distribution.
Speaking of chinese knockoff toys, wouldn't it be great if some factory in CHina decided to just make ball and socket figures like xevoz on their own and call it World Fighters or something like that... haha
Actually, these things aren't half bad. The thing is, a matter of taste. It's the matter of the sculpt. Hyper detailing can be good, such as in the case of Mcfarlane statues... or you can go the stylized look (which I obviously am more a fan of) such as Xevoz, Sigma-6, and various vinyl figures. The stylized look gives more character and artistic personality to a toy. Making something look "realistic" to me, makes it look generic: like that pack of wild jungle animals they have in packs at Target, Kmart etc. Just a bunch of animals some kid can use in a diarama for school. AND sad to say that without some hot property backing these toys up: a good cartoon, comic etc, it does even worse than Xevoz, which even without media (sans website) had a game, great sculpt, great design, customization, list goes on (preaching to the choir)
So how does everyone else on this board feel about this? The key example being these Dinowarriors.

eMummy, i have found points that i can agree and disagree on. i do agree that it sucks that toys with such great potential, get turned into half-@$$ed , lame toys. for example, batman begins: great movie, lame toys. i also feel that when a great property is involved, the products should be top notch (kind of how they are trying to crack down on bad video games, based on great movies). and yes, it is a good thing to see a big distributor take a chance on a original indy toy line (other wise i would have missed out on xevoz).
as for a governing body to regulate plastic usage, i think that may be a little too extreme. i know there are people out there who are struggling to get by, and toys are not a big priority. that's where the knock offs and dollar tree toys come into play. i'm sure there are tons of kids that only get to play with toys that are bought at a dollar outlet. if there were a governing body to regulate plastics, i'm sure half of these cheap toys wouldn't be produced. so as much as i'd hate to admit it, we need cheap knock off toys. for people that can't afford g.i joe, they get the corps figs or bad guys. and the people that can't afford he-man (when the toys were available, not the statues), they could buy beast riders. also, if cheap chinese knock off didn't get plastic usage, they would be absolutely no chance of your idea of "world fighters".
just my opinion.

I agree that good movies usually are made in to bad games and toys. And yes, the Dino Warriors do look generic (figures) but the dinos are cool. I just can't bring myself to compare anything to Xevoz any more. Everything comes up wanting. But unfortunately there are no really good toys left. I lost alot hope in the Transformers at the end of Energon. It was getting a little too gimmicky (although I did like the minicon idea in Armada) and Hasbro really sucks with shipments. I never saw about 5 or 6 of the final Energon toys. Since I was tired of ordering on line and paying too much on ebay, I gave up. I actually have almost completely given up on Hasbro. Which is bad, cause they have some really good ideas (Transformers + Star Wars = crap when it could have been so much better.)

yes, you are right, Jagermaster, I was half joking about the W.P.U.C. or World Plastic Usage Commission (located suite 1702 U.N.) I secretly think Spader-man is a riot! But I guess my main question is the realism vs stylized. SO if Dino warriors were just given a touch of coolness, then they would be awesome, or if you could do some moderate rearranging of stuff... or they had more articulation. It makes you really think hard about what would be a surefire way to make this toy blow off the shelves.
