I've been temped to buy one since they do look nice. I like the mini figure "driving" the mech concept. The only think I find a bit lame is that they transform into spheres. Other than that, they look like cool figures. The packaging is indeed eye catching.

Saw a few of these at K-Mart. I may pick one or two up, I like Mega Bloks and like the little 'Driver" concept. Same reason I love Infil-Traitor.

Bought one today. If you've got the $10 to buy one, BUY IT! The one I got is great!
The articulation on these things is a lot like Revoltech, with the joints that have the same range as balljoints without actually being balljoints. It transforms easily and the min-driver's awesome.

Well I went ahead and bought one today...the white and blue one. He's called Magna Rex I believe. Overall, it's a cool toy.
However, first thing I did was assemble the smaller figure and the neck joint snapped. The ball joints are *so* small it's crazy. Be very careful. I guess I'll have to call customer service to get the piece replaced. It's the first time I come across a defective MegaBlocks product, so I'll give them another chance.
Apart from that, the main, transforming figure is not bad at all. Absolutely no loose joints, light up eyes, great articulation and cool detailing (reminds me of the movie Transformers designs a little). I wouldn't say they have Bionicles beat, but Mega Blocks is getting there.
I also have to mention the alt mode. The robot turns into a ball (much like one the first Bionicles concept from years ago). I didn't think transforming the figure was particularly fun. And what's with turning into a ball? Give us cooler alt modes dammit. Cause that one sucks.
Overall, I recommend checking them out. Aside from the alt mode, they're kinda neat.

I picked up the black and red one, and also the green one. I like the stylings and pre-applied decals. It's fun to put together. That said, you can basically only switch parts with another set to get another color mixed in. Not really the get customizable construction toy I thought I would be getting. The ball thing is cool, although you kind of have to clutch it in both hands to make it really round by squeezing it tight, like a snowball. I wish the arms were more impressive, but then it wouldnt be able to turn into a ball. The mini guy with guns is cool, but yeah I can see how he could break easily. There is also a elastic band element to the ball transformation, be very careful with that when you put it together. He stands pretty tall. Iron Spectre comes up to his waist. The light up head action is very cool. and you can even replace the battery it looks like. Lego could learn a lesson from them on this one point for sure.
The instruction manual, at least the one i had printing/binding errors: There was 2 of each page number after page 9 and it reversed order which was confusing for about 3 seconds, maybe less, who cares. Another good point is the packaging. It's a nice container and it also is attractive on shelf which is why I probably picked them up in the first place. Wish the pieces between sets were even more stylistically different. Like the Magnet joint line they have.
The joints, I just got mine, are good, but unless they use them in a different set of Neo Shifters, not sure whats going to happen with the future of this joint. Since I have two, I'm going to see what I can get by extending the arms and stuff...
