I just saw these in a local TRU store. They're pretty cool! *ALMOST* Exactly like Marvel Legends, just smaller. I may start collecting these for the office.

I am thinking about buying them as well. But I want to know if the game included with the figs is any good. From what I've seen it doesn't sound very fun.
What interests me though, are the Marvel Superhero Factory figures. They're about 2 inches high statues very, very similar to japanese gashapon figures. They look damn cool IMO. I just hope they won't be too expensive.

I'm going to pick a few of these up today. I'll let you know what I think GF.

I'm interested in them but I can't justify the high price right on them.

Hmmm, yeah, I have to agree. I wasn't certain how much these things cost when I saw them at the TRU yesterday because they didn't have a price listed on the pegs they were hanging from. One would think, half the size of the fig, half the price. What a surprise that the boosters were about 7 dollars and the starter sets are 14.
Ahh well, I still picked up a starter set regardless. I picked up the Spider-man & Thing set. I look at it this way: yeah, it's a bit pricey, but a 4-inch fig is saving me a lot of storage space in comparison to the legends line. For being only 4 inches high, practically the size of a G.I. Joe fig from back in the day, I have to say they have a great deal many POA for a fig this size. If you can overlook the cost, you can really enjoy these figs. In fact, I'd probably be more inclined to collect these figs over the Legends line, if they made each fig they've made in the Legends line in a Super Hero Showdown version.

They are way overpriced IMO. Like you said, they are half the size of Legends, so why are they more expensive? Legends is a great line, but these just don't do it for me, mainly because the price point. If they were like $3 each, I'd buy them all, but at $7 a pop, that just feels like a rip to me

I saw these the other day(friday) at a Toys R Us. I didn't buy any the day I saw them though, but instead picked up an issue of ToyFare magazine. They have an article about them in the magazine. I went back today and saw that they had restocked. I thought about getting the Wolverine vs Hulk set, but instead picked up two boosters. (Dr Ock, and Black suit spidy)
They're not horrible little figures. the price point is the killer. The total was $17sumthing... for two booster packs...
I think the bottom line, will be that this is a "pick and buy" type series, and not "collect them all" type.
Anyone with the start set try the actual game? the cards look pretty nice.

I picked up a black costume Spidey as well: tell me, is yours loose around the ribs? Mine was incredibly loose and I was wondering if it was a production flaw in many of these or if it was just a particular instance. Basically, I can't stand him up on his feet (without the stand) without him either bowing or bending backwards. So far, every other SHSD fig I've purchased does not have this problem, but at the same time, b.c. Spidey is the only one designed with this type of chest / torso.

My spidy had a bum elbow. one of the pegs wasn't through the plastic on one side. easy to fix though. The torso isn't as loose as you describe. in fact i've had a lot of fun poseing him on the stand in ways that would have been un-do-able if the torso was loose. I would suggest returning him for a new one, or calling the people who make the figures. Not sure if clear nail polish will fix that joint. The Dr Ock figure was a let down for me. I read "flexible arms" in the article in ToyFare magazine, and thought "bendy arms" (like a pipe cleaner) but they arn't. you can twist them where they plug in... but then it just looks like he is grabbing something behind him. I'll probably have to pick up another set tomorrow though. the more i sit at my desk the more i reach over and pose the figures. Marvel ledgends are good, but they can be a pain to stand up in their different action positions (deathlok is key example) so having a built in stand with each figure is great.

YN1F,
Thanks for the info on Black Spidey. I picked up another one and it's nice and tight. You mentioned that yours has a bum arm. Now that I have a replacement fig, if you need an arm, let me know and I can send you a spare arm to replace your bad one. I don't need this fig anymore, especially since I lost one of his ankle pegs - it's a long story, but it bascially ended with the peg taking a one way airborn trip to lostville courtesy of my tweasers.
Also, have you seen the Berserker Wolverine at all? He seems to be the chase of the set. I think I may have only seen him once, but that was the first time I saw these figs. Had I known he would be that difficult to find, I would have scooped him.

These figs are pretty neat, but I will not be collecting all of them. I bought Ghost Rider on impulse and was very disapointed. His right leg got form-fitted in a bowed position due to that dumb rubber-plastic they are using nowdays. I wish I had not bought it so quickly. Anyone else have this problem?

Had I known he would be that difficult to find, I would have scooped him. Thanks for the offer on the Black spidy arm. I fixed mine with some needle nose tweasers. Basically, one side of the elbow wasn't pushed through where it should be, causing it to look weird and not bend very well. but a little heat to soften it up, and tweasers made it like new. As for berserker Wolvy...I found one. *insert evil bully laugh here* I had to drive to a different city/town with my mother, and happened to pass a toys r us on the way there. Looked like they had just opened the box, because the pegs were full, and Berserker W and a few other figures were on the shelf without peg room. He's pretty cool. The feet don't have as much freedom to move though because of the pants sculpting. I like him more then the wolvy that came with Hulk though. I wish you well in finding him. Your Number1 Fan
