Lobsterman: Tell us more about the Galactus figure please. I'm all into him since it was discovered he's really Franklin Richards! What's the source of your info? When did this happen?

To clarify:
I lied. I have liked Galactus since I read FF #s 48-50. That's pretty much as close to a conception of the divine as I have come - a silly character in a comic book with a big "G" on his chest. I was a teeny, tiny young man at that point.
The whole Franklin Richards as Galactus thing begins in "Earth X" and was followed upon by an adventure in the FF series in 2001.
Earth X is actually quite an achievement if you realize how much xhit got tied back together in terms of wildly loose continuity strings that developed over the years. Earth X is the unifying theory of the Marvel Universe. And anyway, the son of Black Bolt is so badass, it's hard not to like the series.
And I really wanted to dislike the series up front. So the writer had an uphill battle with me all the way. But he did his homework, and while I don't love all the choices, it's an impressive work.
So yeah, sorry for the spoilers - but Galactus is Franklin Richards.

[glow=red,2,300]good article. i hope they can post some pictures. i am a little iffy about the mismatch in figures this new line will pose. if a gimmick like this is going to be offered, at least have the same amount of figures avaliable. mcfarlane didn't do that with the interlink. [/glow]

Gak! Mismatched paint! Pieces that don't fit together properly! Sucksville!
But one thing the reviewers have dead wrong is the scale issue- Big G changes size. In the original appearance FF#s 48-50, Big G is approximately twice as tall as the members of the FF - there are panels where you can plainly see The Thing comes to approximately thigh or crotch high.
My problem with pics I have seen is the chest emblem, which basically looks painted on and like an after thought. There's no reason why the emblem shouldn't be at least slightly larger than the band over which it is placed - it should look like a medallion of some kind, not some wavy lines around a circle shape. So there's one reason to mod the figure right there. If painting him becomes an issue, well I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
