They're just called "Robots". They're toys by Mattel from the upcoming movie starring Ewan McGregor, which is also called--you guessed it--"Robots". ;D

wow, he's right. I didn't understand what zovex was talking about until I saw this picture: www.robotoys.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1418&p_catid=We have ball and socket joints and lots of interesting pieces. I guess what really has me interested are the magnetic parts. This should be looked into, a spare parts library for my Xevoz would be nice! However, if the theme is "robots" I don't expect much variety here.

[glow=red,2,300]i saw these figures at toys r us. i passed. sure, they look nice, and look like they have nice articulation, but does the market think they can slap some joints on any robot and think we'll buy it? i passed. robots are cool, but not all robots are mecha.[/glow]

yeah, I saw some robots figures at a TRU a while back, but the're mini. Maybe stand an inch and a half tall. you get two in a pack and they come with lots of gadgets.

I saw the robots toys while in SF, and the thing that impressed me the most was the packaging for the 2-pack. They have interchangable parts, are 3.5 inch scale, but each figure was assembled, and in a inner plastic cradle shaped like a cog, that interlocked and would turn with the other figure, and there was an opening so you could turn them.
Hard to describe, and I still cant find a picture of the packaging...
Kinda neat. I'll watch the movie. No desire for the toys.
(Edit: they are smaller than 3.5, I realize now.)
