I wanted to share pics of this figure here, since he's got the ball joint action going too..
I mentionned yesterday in a thread that the Mega Blocks company now had the rights to the Marvel Universe. When I went to the store today, I saw that they lost no time in putting these licensed products on the shelves. One that caught my eye was this "Super Tech Hero" Spider-Man. Think Bionicle meets Marvel and you have a pretty good picture of what I'm talking about. Speaking of pictures, here's one.
In my opinion, it's an ok action figure/building toy. It's got bright colors (with a transparent spidey mask and web accessory). It also looks pretty strong. As in it could take a fair amount of abuse. And even if you break it, the blocks have a lifetime warranty.
This figure retains the colors of our favorite web slinger, but when they said 'Super Tech Hero' it means 'robotic'. Some will find it super lame, I just think it's another take on the character. His mask is actually a flip up visor that reveals a very odd Bionicle type head. See picture below..
The figure also has one regular hand and the other is a spring loaded grappling hook in the shape of a web. It's made of soft rubber so it can feel good against your cornea. There are ball jointed articulations at the neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, thighs and knees. The figure comes unassembled in a Bionicle looking plastic box that looks decent.
So there you have it, a decent start for Mega Blocks when it comes to using the Marvel characters IMO. Aslo worth mentionning is that, aside from Spidey here, there's a Super Tech Hero Wolverine available as well.
