So, I decided that I would pick this guy up today after picking up superposeable Spider-Man last night. I checked him out, and he looks pretty good, however, the paint apps, while decent, seem like they could use some touch up work to make this great. I was curious if any of you have done touch up work with paints for any ML figs or related Toybiz figs of this sort.
Also, as I purchased my Captain, I saw that there were no wings on his head gear, typically seen right above the ears. All the ones I've seen don't have the wings, however, I saw on ebay that some do have the wings. Does anyone know what the deal is with this? The wings don't seem to be all that common aparently. While I like the look of Ultimate Captain America, I do miss the wings a bit and have given the thought to manufacture some out of epoxy. Any recommendations?

The winged version is a very hard to find chase variant. Marvel Legends is notorious for that sort of thing.

PHOOEY! I guess epoxy is the answer.

the "winged" cap is one of the many chase figures for series 8. there is also mowhawk storm and a blonde black widow as well. good luck searching though, the chase figs are very hard to come across (i am currently looking for the chase ghost rider)

I own the ML8 Cap America and I actually prefer it without the little wings. The Ultimate design is more realistic IMO. Also, I checked it out again, and don't feel he needs any paint touch ups.

When I mentioned about paint touch ups, I was really referring to small details, like knicks and chipped / smeared paint. Nothing really beyond that. I'm thinking I may do the same for Spidey, just to make them look real clean.

Is Man-thing some kind of shortpack? I still can't find him, although I've seen all the others, mixed in among pegs and pegs of BEAST.

Man Thing can't be shortpacked. I saw him again on the pegs of 3 different stores last week. And if he's hanging around in my area, you know he ain't that rare

I've never seen him and I don't think he's that popular. I think he's should be a shortpack even if he's not. Maybe he just doesn't get much play in some areas because he not all that overall appealing?

IMO he's not popular enough. Most don't know who he is. So they're less likely to buy him I think.

I dont know him but I'll buy him because he looks so cool. The comic with the toy dosent explain a thing he just shows up and leaves. In fact nearly none of the toy comics tell you much about the charactor. - Dark joe

The big plus with those figures isn't the comic/poster board. It's the Marvel VS System card that's included.

Man-Thing is 1 per case, as is Black Widow and Doc Ok. So he's not a chase fig, but he'll probably sell faster than the Cap which is packed at like 3 per case, etc.
