Costuming is a fickle mistress. Some outfits can be made for dirt cheap and look good or can cost an arm and a leg to just look decent. Depends on what you're going for. The guy doing the Boba Fett outfits is probably affiliated with the 501st Stormtroopers legion and most likely has access to a vacuum-forming machine to make one piece helmets, armor, etc. And that costs a good chunk of change to start up. Relatively cheap once you have the machine and molds in place, tho. I know my renfaire outfit has cost me about $2,500 over the decade that I took built it (doublet, custom boots, weapons, clothing). I just got my old west cowboy outfit and that set me back $500 due to getting authentic looking clothing, boots, and weapons. But this is one of my hobbies and I'm really good at it. I'm heading down to Atlanta for Dragon*Con (really, really, really big sci-fi/fantasy convention) on Labor Day and currently have plans to wear 5 different outfits of various complexity (cowboy outfit, ren garb as a pirate, South American "Poppa Doc" character, Kevin Matchstick from "Mage" and variation of my tuxedo outfit) during the 4 day convention. One girl I know will probably have 12 costume changes over the convention.

Speaking of cons, is anybody going to the San-Diego Comic-Con this month? I was really hoping to go this year, but of course, my parents forbid me to go again .

SDCC is one that I haven't hit ... yet. Know a good number of folks who go and swear by it. Someday... ;D

That came out good. Looks pretty accurate to me. Can you see anything?
Good that you FIT in the suit. Not every fan can (myself included).

Nothing, my parents just don't want to spend the money to ride on a plane, rent a motel, and all that stuff, just to go to a convention they have no interest in. It's ok though, Once I'm on my own I plan to go there plenty of times ;D.

Here's a link to some of the photos taken at Otakon 2007. I didn't have anyone come with me, so taking pics of myself wasn't possible. I'm collecting photos taken by others that are posted online at various image hosts and such. There are a lot of photos I'm hoping to find online that show some of the poses I was in. There was a lot of sword-play on Sunday, so I'm hoping I can find a few of them sometime in the next week. viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=188907171&albumId=825575
