Can't say I like Nicolas Cage playing Blaze. I would have liked somebody a little less quirky.

I agree, but he might still pull it off. I saw the bike the other day on Aint it Cool News. I think it looks very cool.
I'm not the biggest Ghost Rider fan, but I will probaby go see this movie.

That's the selling point for me, right there. Seeing what Ghost Rider actually looks like. The effects are key.
Part I'm looking forward to the most? The moment when his head bursts into flame and burns all the flesh off, leaving his skull exposed.
How cool will that be to watch?
Not that that's necessarily how they'll do it, but it would make sense, at least to me. Maybe I'm just sadistic. ;D

Maybe I'm just sadistic. ;D Actually, they have a clip of the transformation sequence, and it's very weird: Cage calmly removes his own head and places it in a metal suitcase. From the same suitcase, he withdraws a human skull and affixes it to his neck with a stapler. As the bad guys stare in horror, Cage then pours lighter fluid over his cranium and flicks his zippo (a zippo shaped like...a SKULL!), and gets all flamey. I was especially put off by what is apparently Ghost Rider's new war-cry/ catchphrase: "Ooga booga boo!!"

Dude, that is seriously messed up. I much prefer my own idea.
Do you by chance have a link or a website where I can see that?

Hallelujah! May it be so! I hope it's just a gag. Of course, I read his post late at night after a long work shift, and anything sounds true then.

Yes, just a joke. I try not to use emoticon flags, as they ruin the subtlety.

The face melting off is indeed how it should be. It was like that in the comics and in all the cartoons. Blaze pushed that button on his chopper and it turned into the hell cycle, then his face melted off, pretty sick for a fox kids show! Still is hella cool.

Sorry, I just watched back my "90's Super Hero Cartoons" tape last night. After watching 8 hours of various cartoons and such, I saw the Ghost Rider 'show' I was speaking of. It was actually an episode of the UPN 'Incredible Hulk' cartoon show (came on right after Moesha ). He made a cameo by seeking out Bruce Banner's soul to try to tear the HULK out of it with no avail. The cartoon was crap, but there was some face melting goins on. Here is some artwork I did last year on this matter:
