I saw that the other day. So it's final huh? So will TRU close down all together, or re-open by a new name, or what? Is it the end of them or just a transition.

I'm pretty sure the stores will remain opened under the name Toys R Us. The changes should probably only happening 'behind the scenes'. If these new owners know anything, they won't go and destroy such a known and established name like TRU.

TRU's share of the toys sales market has been shrinking. From what I understand, the new owners are going to spend some time studying the workings of the company. After that, analysts are expecting them to close a large number of the low performing stores. One of the main reasons TRU was bought was real estate, not the toys stores. The stores themselves occupy some decent pieces of land. Unless TRU can stabilize a declining market and start increasing their sales, the new owners might look towards other options for the TRU properties. Apparently, the Babies-r-us stores are doing great and are in no danger.
