There's this new animated show airing on Spike TV called Afro Samurai. It airs tonight at 11 PM, but you can watch the first episode here: www.spiketv.com/mods/afro/player/index.jhtmlWarning - For you youngsters out there, even though it's a cartoon, it's got a lot of graphic violence. I mean A LOT!

I caught the first episode, and I liked it a lot. The stylized animation and action really appeal to me, and the offbeat feel of the show is cool too. Also, Sam Jackson and Ron Perlman's vocals add an extra dash of coolness to the mix. I'm looking forward to how this series will play out, so count me as being on board for the rest of the series. (Maybe this'll be my new animation fix since new episodes of The Venture Brothers and Metalocalypse won't be showing for a while.)

The Afro Samurai was Ron Perlman?? I figured out who Samuel L. Jackson was (the motor-mouthed groupie), but the samurai's voice I didn't get. Cool.
The animation was top-notch, not what I would have expected from SpikeTV. Was this done in Japan first? Man, I wouldn't want to be "Number Two."
Speaking of Ron Perlman, did anyone else here -- besides me --- catch the Hellboy animated movie a few weeks ago? Now that was fun! ;D ;D ;D

No, Sam plays both Afro Samurai and Ninja Ninja. Ron Perlman is the gunman that took his father out, a.k.a. No. 1. See here. I saw Hellboy: Sword of Storms. That movie will be out on DVD in about a month. I'll be picking up a copy.

Haven't seen Afro Samurai yet, but I've watched the Hellboy animated movie. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Not a bad movie at all, but I dunno, I prefer the live action movie. Del Toro's work was awesome IMO. Not sure if I'll get the Sword of Storms dvd yet.
