Anybody else watching this one? I figure a few on this board of 601 must be fans of the Winchester Brothers.

I saw this on a whim and it's pretty cool. Cool like LOST. It reminds me of an old series called Friday the 13th. A couple of 20 something's drive around and collect possessed antiques and save people. Only now they drive around in a cool old muscle car with squeaky doors.

My wife's a big fan of it - one of her friends recommended it to her before Christmas and she's downloaded every episode (you've gotta love BitTorrent!). In fact, she's playing the "Hookman" episode right now.
I could see the "Friday the 13th" series kinda vibe machineman noted. I haven't gotten in to "Lost" but this show is entertaining in funny and scary ways. And a whole lot of actors from other fandoms (Amy Acker & Julie Benz from "Angel," Callum Keith Rennie from "Battlestar Galactica," Jim Burnes from "Highlander") have been having guest spots, so I've been amused in finding them.
Two of the best lines from the series:
"It's the best of 'Mullet Rock'" (referring to one brother's music collection/taste)
"Dude, you Fugly!" I can't believe that word got past the censors.
Check it out. If you like it, you've found a new show to watch. If you don't, you've only wasted one hour of your time. That's no worse than standing in line at the DMV or watching a State of Union address (pick any president).

Sell you on it, alright. Two brothers looking for their father who is hunting the thing that killed their mother. They travel around the country in a 67 black impala (I am pretty sure) and bust casper's rear with shotguns loaded with rock salt and a sweet collection of weapons in the trunk. Pretty much follows the urban legends and folk tales faithfully. Heck of a lot better than the Night Stalker.
I thought it was going to be crap cause it was on the WB (don't want to offend any smallville fans, haven't made it around to watching it so I reserve all judgement on it.) Everythig else on the WB is like a slightly more wholesome OC.
Not Supernatural. For the most part, movie quality special effects and great acting. If you are going to catch an episode, I recommend the Pilot. I went from this might be okay to I am going to buy this series the day it hits DVD by the first commercial break.
Hands down the best new show of the year. As long as you don't watch Bugs as your first one, you will be okay. Bugs was the worst of the season, but it was still good. It was like Transchorcher, some good parts, but not the best.
If you don't like it after my review, I will owe you an hour out of my life. I have plenty to spare. Last time I saw my life flash before my eyes, I noticed I spend too much time asleep.

Hey, sorry to bring up this horribly old post, but I have been thinking about this show for quite a while now and have some things to say about it. I first got hooked on the show when I watched the episode "Dead In The Water". Now I was simply flipping through channels at the time when I came across the show. Now I probably would have ignored it, if I did not notice the interestingly dark camera effects it had, kind of like one of those old cult horror movies (like Evil Dead). I watched the episode and found it too be great. The only episode I did not like was the very stupid episode (Route 666) which was simply about having a love interest appear for Dean in only 1 episode. Besides that I really liked season one. Sam's character is played by actor Jared Pateleki, who in my opinion, is not a very good actor. However I think the great acting of Dean, played by Jensen Ackles, covers up for the lack of talent in Jared. Just my opinion though. Now in season 2, I felt that the show had become a bit degraded. Jared obvious lack of talent showed, making many stories that revolved around Sam rather stupid. Not even Jensen's great acting was able to cover up how badly Sam's character was portrayed. Much of the fights between Sam and Dean became rather stupid and childish. As a matter a fact, midway through the second season the only thing that kept me watching was the acting Jensen delivered in Dean. Though I have not completely watched through all of season 2 but the last good episode I remember seeing so far is "Nightshifter" where the brothers have to yet again, fight a shape shifter. I am hoping that they can pull themselves back together in season 3, or I fear it may be canceled. I'm not sure if any of you guys still watch this show but if you do, I would like to hear some of your opinions.

Sorry, been away from the board for awhile. I agree that Jensenis a much better actor and I as well haven't finished season 2 yet. I think the plots are not as good with the overall storyacr but the individual creatures still do not disappoint. I am hoping for a third season and then maybe finish strong.

I finished the second season just today. The season gets better near the end. And no need to worry about cancellation, they confirmed a season 3. I tell you the season two finally is freakin' cool.
