So, from what I learned here, I am now branching into case modding type stuff. Been wanting to have a customer keyboard of sorts for a while, and dyeing the keys worked very very well. Fairly sure I will make more than this one (want one with the keys totally black, no letters). This is an original Apple Extended II keyboard. I may repaint the small apple in the upper left corner. Edit: for those who dont know what they look like originally (not my pic): www.farclip.com/hardware/images/Apple_ExtendedKeyboardII-M3501.jpg

Cool idea. My keyboard is Grey/Black/Silver so dying it serves not point but... Maybe I'll do it to my Dad's keyboard next time he steals my T.V.... Mwahahahahaha!

So this stuff doesn't rub off or fade?

Uhm, it's dye. There may be some residue left over, but the plastic is now a different color.

'Pretty sure it's only one way. Unless you bleach it? I dunno.

Nope . . . unfortunately, there's no way to lighten a dark plastic.

Leaving it to soak in bleach wouldn't have any effect then?[/b]

I tried boiling in 100% bleach, nothing. The plastic must have the color added in the liquid phase.

How long did you try boiling it Heyyou? Maybe letting it sit in bleach overnight or for a longer period would have better results?[/b]
