Not really, you can either touch it up or leave them in. I leave them in. I'll be doing that for all my customs in this set.

That rocks.
How did you make the pizza?

Oh, I didn't make it at all. It came with one of my daughter's Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I keep the big part of the pizza and she still has the missing slices to feed her dollys. I took a transcorcher leg/arm connector peg and sanded the posts off and made the remaining circular surface into a oval shape and crazy glued it to the undersize of the pizza.

Great job, SS. That came out really well. I bet he is impressive looking sitting on your desk (or wherever). By the looks of the paint job, I'd say that you didn't really need the advice you asked for. Anyhow, awesome work. I'll be looking forward to seeing the rest of the "turtles."

Great work SS! I like the paint scheme a lot. The figure doesn't look much like a TMNT character to me, but I really like it nonetheless. What did you use to make the pizza piece? Also, if you're planning on doing four 'types', this is gonna get pretty expensive pretty fast. And you'll get stuck with a lot of Cryo Katanas. Though maybe 'stuck' isn't such a good word to use since one can never have too much Xevoz figures

Cactusboy - Oh, I needed the advice. I followed most of it I read here to a tee. Without you guys I wouldn't have know about plastics primer, acrylics paint, or clear coating. If the project turns out cool, rest assured you and sock monkey helped play a valuable role in it all.
Grayfox - It's not supposed to be a direct translation of the turtles character into Xevoz form. It's a Bio-mecha fighting robot first with TMNT influences second. I think it does represent that pretty well. It has the comic and new cartoon's white eyes/visor. The blue trim accents of Leonardo's costume were worked into the paint scheme. Then there's some physical similarities... the turtle shaped head, shell shaped body, chunky lower limbs, and the deviated two toed foot. There's double katana sword of Leo as well. So no... it's not exactly Leo, but it's not supposed to be either. It's just got a touch of TMNT flavor to a Bio-Mecha ninja fighting team.
As for the pizza gag piece, I explained how I came up with that in a post futher up the thread. Please, check it out. It was rather easy really to make. I may primer it and give it a better paint scheme.
The cannibalization of parts for any kind of painted or chopped custom is always a problem in finding and then sacrificing parts for the project. I just happen to think this one is cool enough to me personally to undergo the extra hassle and expense. Luckily, I already have 3 Preda-Crawler bodies so I'm looking for a fourth to complete the deal. I may try trading a Cryo-Katana for the fourth on the buy, sell, and trade boards. Zovex has also been an invalueable asset in the collection of the parts I need with his part sales service.

[glow=purple,2,300] If the project turns out cool, rest assured you and sock monkey helped play a vaulable role in it all. Thanks, SS. I'm happy I could help. It really turned out great! Especially with it being your first paint job! I'm very impressed. So, are you addicted yet? I know for me all it took was that first figure to turn out well and I was hooked I definitely think once the 4 are all together you won't be able to miss the TMNT reference. I think it is a great nod without re-creating the original. Without a doubt. He has been great with helping me out too. Anyone thinking of doing customs but don't want to break up full sets should consider getting parts from him Once again great work, SS! Can't wait to see the rest! ~SM![/glow]

Ah I could see the TMNT feel, but I was expecting something more similar I think. I may have read wrong what your intentions were SS. Either way, I like it a lot. Can't wait to see the other ones. Do you plan on having them all the same or will you use different pieces for each character? While keeping core parts like shell and head?
