It's a horror on the half-shell. Yep, I came accross this idea today as I was fiddling around improving my Sledge Hammer v3.0 model. I've got a ton of accessories already set aside for this custom and think it's going to be one I am totally going to paint to make it truely rock. Yes, we all are probably familiar with the popular movie, TV, and comic book influences of the creation. However I do not want to paint it green. It's a Biomecha, so I'll probably keep the paint scheme robotic in nature. Anyone have any suggestions for paint color applications or painting tips? i'm thinking about keeping a good deal fo this set black, silver and a neat flourescent accent color ( maybe I'll just carry over the neon green we've seen in other biomechas as it would tie in well with the tribute theme as well). The various weapon systems will be black and silver with blue, purple, red and orange accents depending on the system used. The short swords pictured will have blue highlights natch. ~SS~

the only thing thats outtal place is the feet. The turtle's feet are kinda like shadow blade's feet.

Heh, yeah I'm not pleased with the Razorclaw feet, but Shadowblade's feet are just too small. I'm thinking Bonecutter's feet will do rather nicely though. I also got rid of Shield Breakers smaller waist and added Sledge Troopers bulkier lower torso. Now the figure is much more proportioned.

Heh, simply genius SS. I'm a big Turtles fan from back in the day and I always appreciate a nod in their direction. However, I think that you're right in not painting it to look too much like a turtle...I think the resemblance is enough. As far as color advice goes, though, I'm not sure. That's probably the hardest thing for me when doing customs...color choice (you'd think my art degree would help with this). Anyway, I think that sticking with colors typical to Biomecha (save the orange on Transcorcher...ugh) sounds like a good bet. By the way, I'm proud of you for deciding to paint this one.

Thanks CB and everyone else who had something nice to say. Here's the final kitbash shots of the generic body without any of internal undeployed hardware. I decided that OG swords probably were closer to sais than anything else in the line and that SB's short swords were closer to katanas. ~SS~

Cool custom (or kitbash, or whatever you wanna call it )! As for the colors, I agree with keeping some black and silver in. Other than that, I'd try and give some pieces a camo dark green/lighter green color scheme. Might look good. It would retain the Biomecha feel and it would add a bit of diversity to the specie. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with

[glow=green,2,300]No offence meant SS... I liked the original version better. The darker grittier feel of black steel just worked for me, along with the original upper arms. The feet I could go either way on but those make him look a little too organic for a Biomech.[/glow]

This is just the kitbash before the painting. It will look much better when that is done. The sectiod feet will look loads better along with the whole package when the paint is applied. The yellow arms were used just for the fact that the Street punk is a figure that is harder to get for me and I have a bunch of the Omega Gaurds for kit bashing, since it was going to get painted anyway it just made more sense for me to use them. This is just the tip of the iceberg for this custom. I have several external weapons systems as accessories that I'm going to be doing. I even have a gag piece planned. If the first paint job turns out nice I'll be doing 3 more variants. ~SS~

I really like this kitbash, I can't wait to see it painted. I like how you used a Preda Crawler waist as the chest piece, it looks really nice and is something different. I never would have thought of that. Did you get the idea just from looking at Ninja Turtles, or did you get it specifically from the robot turtle in them? Anyways, I can't wait to see this painted, it looks to be a really great piece.[/b]

Actually I just stumbled accroos the idea while messing with some pieces. I wanted to make a little Biomecha flying battle probe. I was going to take the alternate transcorcher head and put it on top the PC torso via the little silver double male connector. However, I just didn't like the way it looked, so I moved the head to one of the 4 prongs. I tilted the head down and that's when it hit me that it looked like a robotic version of the heroes on the half-shell.
