DUDE! THAT IS SWEET!!! I wish I was going this year!!! Thanks for sharing pictures. How can you see out of that? When my friend dressed up as snakeeyes he connected two spatulas together, it was hilarious.
That looks really good.

I'm also going to bring a few Xevoz with me and stuff em in my vest pouches. I'm planning on attending the Hasbro panel on the Thursday. We'll see what happens...

Maybe you should bring a friend dressed as Duke, so you can stay in characater and let him do all the speaking.

The suit looks great. Good job with the upgrades. So....is it any cooler? The pick of you holding a Stikfas from LNC site shows a little moisture. I think military use some kind of under shirt with ribbing for airflow. Next step might be a black wetsuit top if you want the movie look. That should be real hot.
Good stuff.
Talking Xevoz to Hasbro panel? With your costume and a tremendous amount of guts you could walk up to the panel and put a figure right on the table in front of them. Think Mime. Make a the Snake Eyes custom like quillerbee did but holding a postcard saying "Save Xevoz".
Hell, you're a walking, non talking version of their character.

Yeah, the thing about this body suit is that it's so sheer, I feel the weather right through it. The BDU's are good only in the winter, but at that time, that was the only option I had. I remember it being really hot when BCC was going on and all those layers, plus changing in a smelly bathroom stall with no air conditioning was more like a challenge from Fear Factor. Sometimes it would take me an hour just to adjust to the climate in the restrooms as I was changing. I've since then learned that the only way to keep it cool was to just wet the whole costume. People would ask how I stayed so cool in the suit,.. back then, the joke was that I'd sweat the whole suit out then just cool off from the sweat. The truth is, the joke wasn't that far from the truth. I was smart enough to bring some cologne to balance the scents out. Scarlett must have had a poor sense of smell to stay attracted for so long, lol.

Hell, I'd be tempted to inquire about the possability of getting xevoz type and compatable versions of marvel, joe, transformers and star wars characters.

it'd be fun to ask them for a laugh, but Hasbro is big, and each designer is crazy busy with whatever brand is on their plate. Aaron Archer & Jared Wade would know a bit about the brand, & the other guys would remember the name, but they really only have time to think about what brand is right in front of their face. It's that busy.

I'm back. Sorry for not getting back sooner. I had a good time at SDCC. But WOW, this convention was HUUUUGE! It blew my mind! I couldn't ever do all the things I wanted to do, especially in the costume. I got stopped like every two steps - "Can I take a photo of you? /with you? /with us? /with my kids? /with my girlfriend? /with my wife?" Hehe, I enjoyed it, but man I was beat! I needed another vacation after this trip, lol.
I attended the Hasbro panel but it was pushing new G.I. Joe stuff, like the new cartoon in the works that should air sometime before the movie; likely to be in the summer, and they plan to have 5-minute segments adding up to a full hour. Kinda like how Cartoon Network did the animated Star Wars Clones Wars a few years back.
No mention of Xevoz, but I did bring a couple with me to show off to people (my kb of 'Zozo the Sower' and a 'Shadow Blade'). I even spoke with a few Hasbro folks and get this - I met Aaron Archer. He actually stopped me and gave me his business card after checking out my outfit. I remember him saying, "Here's my business card, ... I'm on the G.I. Joe design team. Send me an email." I didn't think anything of it at first because the costume didn't allow me to get a good look at the card print and I had no idea who he was then. When I got back to the hotel later that day, my roommates, who are in the comic arts business (both were illustrators that have done work for Devils Due and IDW and many other projects) and know the industry fairly better than others, were floored to know that Aaron Archer saw me and gave me his business card. I sent him an email per his request, but I'm still waiting on him to get back to me.
Sideshow Collectibles really enjoyed my outfit as well. They have a 12" figure coming out of Snake Eyes in a few months (and another of Cobra Commander coming out later) and they were very warm and acceptable of my costume. I took a few photos with them and hung around their booth for most of the day Saturday. They gave me some swag - 2 shirts, a mug and a cap, which was pretty nice of them to do. I was happy just to have a place to sit at the con for a few minutes, lol.
Early on the Saturday, I met up with one of the guys from Sideshow and another guy came over from Hasbro to check out the costume and the new figure coming out. I spoke with the guy from Hasbro about Xevoz, and he knew exactly what I was talking about. He enjoyed them too. I'm not sure if he worked on the design team, but he was knowledgeable enough about them to have dialog with. I didn't get his name, and it definitely wasn't Aaron, but he noted that they just weren't certain what caused their failure, although he did give inclination to the game concept being a likely culprit, to which I agreed strongly. The only other thing he mentioned was that Hasbro wanted to bring this line back, but how was undetermined. They would need to find a way to make the line stick and be desirable. I know what you're thinking - it's PR speak and nothing really solid, and considering what we've heard about licenses and such, it's likely that it's one group within the company commenting on another groups projects and not really knowing what's going on - left hand doesn't know what the right foot is doing, etc. But then again, who's to say? Let's just leave it at "Believe it when we see it".
One thing I DID see was something that Mattel was doing, and I thought, this is what Hasbro should do! Mattel has started a collectors club being presented by Matty, the figurehead for Mattel toys back in the 1960s. Unless I heard wrong, the collectors club would specifically make the toys from previous lines that were not as popular for many and the hard to find toys. One of which I heard was MOTU characters being made and sold exclusively through Mattel via the collectors club site, to be made public soon (unless it's already live, I just don't keep track of this stuff).
Anyhow, after hearing this, I thought, why not Hasbro. Xevoz already has a fan base. It was small at first, but even after getting canned, it grew larger than it was. Hasbro could produce the toys assuming they still have the license to produce, although it would be a gamble because they would want to determine how many units to produce and if it would be profitable or at the very least able to break even through a venture like this. They may just look at Mattel for a while to see if an idea like this could truly work. Fans would definitely enjoy the service of getting what they want.
Pending the reply from Aaron, I may ask him this.
If anyone has a myspace account, I've posted pictures on the site I made for the costume:
myspace.com/snakeeyesllc
I've made the photos viewable for everyone to look at, but you do need a myspace account. I'll post pictures to Flickr by the end of the week, if not sooner, but the photos I got from various sites will only be viewable either on those sites posted by the original posters, or on the myspace page I have for the costume.
