For the record, Marvin here is my custom; when the hip joints on the teddy bear that came with my second, yellow Mechana Robot broke (it seems I break more hip and knee joints on Stikfas; rare, but it happens), I replaced it with an mBear (which looks very dissimilar to the original bear mold) and went ahead with this custom. The legs are the bottom part of the bear legs sculpted onto new hip joints; the shoulders are the back leg middle pieces of the Jungle Cat; the head is a Ping-Pong ball cut and epoxy-puttied onto the upper half of an Alpha Male lower body piece. (There is a slight rattle in there, so something must've come loose; luckily, the actual bond between ball and joint is secure.) Between the hollow, lightweight head and the heavy putty in the legs, this is a pretty stable standing figure, and I'd say close to the right scale to other Stikfas figures. I considered giving him actual hands to hold weapons or accessories, but figured the bear arms worked best for the look I was going for. I'm not 100% happy with the green used in the eyes, but it's not exactly a good idea to shoot for happiness with this particular character... Be sure to let me know what you think!

I like it. Marvin, the Paranoid Android, always cracks me up. lol And painting straight lines is a total b*tch. If I may make a suggestion: I've been using painters tape to mark out areas for clean lines. Doesn't always work perfectly, but I've gotten some really good results. Keep up the great work!

Pretty cool custom. Nice use of the bear.

That character was the highlight of that movie (for me). Any representation of him in Stik form would go over well with me.
Nice job :-)

Thanks. I seriously considering making up a GPP Prototype 81 to go with him - the version of Marvin from the BBC TV series - but the only boxy Stikfas figure I could find, the Cuboyd, was much too short to be credible as that character, even with heavy resizing through sculpting. Maybe eventually... (I did just get some more kits to work on my C.A.T. Squad customs...)

If you need more height add 2 or 3 cuboyds together. Makes the limps longer and I'm sure with a little modification the torso too. Just a thought. I don't know what the old version looks like.

Per the Wikipedia images page, this is what the 1981 Marvin looked like (from the waist up here): Unless I'm sorely mistaken, this version of Marvin even had a cameo in the 2005 movie, in the bureaucratic centre on Vogsphere. On the TV series, he appeared to be just slightly taller than the other actors, so I'd want to represent that if I could; as for double-constructing the Cuboyd figures, I certainly would prefer not to have it look more articulated than the robot is supposed to look...

I just watched it yesterday, though. I really think it is neat. It looks exactly like him in the movie. Good job.
