I used to look at them as statues... ...that couldn't even stand under their own power. ~SS~ Heh heh, you're right. If you want them to stand you have to buy the playsets or vehicles with pegs. Or even buy special stands!!! What a way to spend money.

That's not how I want to spend more of my cash. If you already have to spend $6 - $12 for a 3 3/4 inch toy you'd expect the minium play value to be that it can stand sturdily.

toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=8&itemid=7093"Vader Unleashed" He looks like he's tripping. I mean, like, a major goofy Chevy Chase pratfall. These 'unleashed' figures are seriously over-sculpted. No fabric in the universe can wrinkle that severely. And the figures are all in these strange interpretive modern dance poses. Bossk and IG 88 are okay. Maybe I'll get a zuckuss...

Asajj Ventress (sp?) looks pretty good IMO.

I dunno, she's kinda freaky. I think Clone Wars animated series ruined it for me, their sculpts of Dirge, Asajj, and Grievous are just soo much better than the normal Star Wars line. Granted that's completely stylized vs the movie-like equivilents. Altho Dirge and Asajj never were in any live-action thing, so why not make them look awesome with Dirge's animated proportions that made him badass. That Asajj unleashed version looks like a waif uncle Fester. Am I right?
I find the over the top sculpture in the Unleashed line too much. I'm not knocking the artists... the sculpture technique is fantabulous. Sure beats making those porcelain ballerina and dog statues... yeesh.
As for the 3 3/4 line having bad sculpts at that size, yeah yeah, I know about plastic shrinkage, but with the scanning/prototyping technology they have now, and the actors completely signing away on their likeness for SW toys and videogames WHY CAN'T THEY GET THAT RIGHT. Look at the abominable Van Helsing line... such absolute crap. If you can't get the likeness down, then go the Star Wars Force Battlers route... ok maybe not, Anyway man that Star Wars Hasbro site is cool.

I agree with a lot of what has been said so far. Star Wars toys are junk. I picked up 3 of them though, and they're probably be the only 3 I get. 1. #33 clone trooper comander 2. #38 at-te tank gunner (basicly a clone trooper w/o gimic) 3. Quick change dearth vador They look great appearance wise. I mean, good for star wars toys. the Clone Commander has good poe in the arms, but the legs are lacking. the gunner has good poe in the legs, but the arms are lacking. Its not constant articulation and that is what pisses me off the most. if you knew every figure had joints in the same place, I might be more apt to buy some more of them. Then you add in the normally crappy gimics... quick slashing action... etc. bah humbug. I think the biggest thing hurting the line is the consistancy. second would be getting away from "kids" .... do kids really want every Joe Sam or Smith, that had 5 seconds of screen time, to play with? "I got FigureA today. what do you mean you don't know who FigureA is? Did you watch the movie?! I mean you had to look close... and maybe squint your eye a little bit, but he was in there serving drinks!" and then you can argue price. these figures are 5 bucks, at least thats what I paid for them (10 for the vador). Much more is really pushing it. I always see the figures drop to "buy 2 get one free" at kb, when they're already 2-3 bucks a pop cheaper then when first released. the legos are cool though. I have the snow speeder, and got an x-wing. But they are so damn expensive. all of the sets I'd like to get are $50+ in price, so they won't be living with me anytime soon. I've broken my gold rule of not posting when I just wake up. I appologize for any rambling or incohearance(sp, sound it out) Your_Number1_Fan btw- if you don't want to have the urge to buy clone troopers, don't play the video game "star wars republic commando"
