Beck on track to Xevoz: Obviously, a re-launch of Xevoz isn't the best way to go. With no cartoon or comic tie-in, the toys won't sell. Sure, all the Xevolved individuals who lurk this board and the people in this Toy Buzz topic can buy the figures until Target and Wal-Mart start labeling the boxes for a specific person, but it probably won't make a dent. Which is why I say Hasbro should re-consider the line, but have the figures be from their other liscences. Much like Attacktix, have a Xevoz box set for Marvel, one for TFs, one for G.I.Joe, one for Star Wars. Hell, you can even re-use parts for some of the stuff. It's been thought of before, and we've all seen Marvel, Star Wars, and TF customs, so we know it's possible. By the way, it was Jestergoblin who went to Hasbro and found all that out.

Uh! I hate it when someone tries to bring back the topic of the board! If Xevoz actually does come back, It will be because Stikfas, or some other small toy company will have bought the rights to the product. I am more that 100% sure that Hasbro will never bring back the line. Bastards....

I'm just thinking out loud, here. I know that Hasbro has no plans to bring back Xevoz, but it's not like they're giving up the IP to BanYJ or anything.
Speaking of that, I remember someone posting that Hasbro's rights to the Xevoz IP would expire soon. Any comment on that?

I'd love to have seen mar-voz, JOEvoz, xevformers, and starvoz. Especially had they made the pieces compatible with xevoz. I think those lines can be very succesful; I just doubt it'll ever happen. Hasbro only seems to have one brilliant idea every decade or so....

Back to Invader Zim, I found a funny fact about Jhonen on imdb.com:
When working on Invader Zim, Nickelodeon wanted the office where it was being made to be decorated with pictures of Invader Zim's characters. Nickelodeon wanted cute characters, but Jhonen decided to put up pictures of Bloaty instead.

Yes. The ability to combine pieces from those properties kits without customizing would be awesome. But oh well, back to my Stikfas.

Hell yeah, but appearently they assume the whole concept of xevoz/ ball joint interchangable action figures is flawed and can't be profitable just because they failed to aptly market Xevoz like they did their other flagship franchises in the 80s. Now it's we who suffer from their lack of vision.

There were a lot of cool toys and figures from the 80's that didn't, and did, make it. Mask, Super Naturals, Sky Commandos, the list goes on and on. I'll have to look through some of my old stuff and see what I still have. Rock Lords, I have a bunch of those still.

But surely Hasbro is aware of the kitbashing/customizing crowd out there with all the creations made with Stikfas figures and such. what they don't seem to realize is they could be making a profit from this. Have the regular stuff like MLs, Tfs, Joes, star Wars figures for collecting and have this line of Xevoz-esque figures (ball joint / interchangable parts) for those who want to get creative and/or customize. That line could have characters from any Hasbro properties mixed together. One toy line, MANY [different] characters. And by making them stylized like the Xevoz figures were, they can also be collectable, for those who like the sculpts but not the customizing aspect. I think it would be a great idea and a nice change in the toy world, since no one has ever attempted something like that. I know I'd get on board.

Yes, I think you assume that the suits at hasbro have your level of common sense, creativity and fingers on the pulse of what is cool/viable with the adult/teen toy collector. They don't. Proof? Star Wars Battlers

sadly the depressing posts are right, Ive sent thema fair number, they stuck the computer on me, so I gave up.
at this point isnt the copyright about to expire? anyone know hehe.
id love this line to be back, and I think ill post some oof the mash ups ive done, maybe some pics of the figures shooting themselves, ya depressing, but anything with this much imagination that dies....because it was pegged with some stupid stupid stupid game imo, and had to compete with lego bionicles and such. but bionicle died, and hero factory sucks, megablocks is about as dead as every, the competitors are down a bit, but they wont resurrect them, maybe if i go to the corporation and talk to future lines(they still have the moulds right? if so, they could re-release wave one to see what kids want nowadays outside videogames, they would not lose much, and the fans would be happyish. if it takes off because of the low competition, yay, if not, hasbro doesnt lose much, and its up atm.
you know what I am going to write that letter, include some of the pics on this thread, just to get something going, then one day, maybe go visit hasbro....perhaps this is a childish desire, but meh, I wanna do it.

Aside from lego and star wars, don't most toy lines run short life cycles? I mean even incredibly popular toy lines don't seem to run for more than ten years.
